Winchelsea Lodge is 10 minutes from Hastings and Rye. We offer a modern, relaxed atmosphere with full restaurant and bar faciliites where excellent quality meets excellent value. Triple room (3 Single Beds): includes colour tv, tea & coffee making facilities plus hairdryer. The rate includes a Full English breakfast Our restaurant is open for full service 6 days a week until 9pm. We offer a wide range of fresh local produce. We offer a great Sunday Roast and we allow the kitchen staff Sunday evenings off which we hope you will forgive. Winchelsea Lodge came under new ownership in July 2019, the new owner comes with 20 years experience of running larger venues. Immediately prior to buying the Lodge he had two years running a World class care homes where residents could order whatever they wanted 24 hours a day, large amounts of staff would willingly pander to every need. After two years at the helm the venue had won countless awards for food hygiene, customer service and staff satisfaction. Prior to this he ran two Wedding venues achieving consistently high reviews and grew the business exponentially. Since taking over the Lodge all suppliers understand we do not buy poor quality or average food, do not serve end of life beers and second best is not an option. Having taken over a three star rated Scores on the doors kitchen a major investment has seen food standards increase dramatically and more a more returning diners with a healthy local following. We are a Motel, not a Hotel so you have greater flexibility to come and go as you please. We look forward to meeting you and exceeding your expectations. The Winchelsea Lodge is surrounded by beautiful countryside 1 mile from the sea. Situated halfway between Hastings and Rye it really is the ideal base to explore 1066 Country. Only 3 miles from Rye and 6 to Hastings and Historic Battle you will enjoy exceptional walking along the famous 1066 trail. We have a wheelchair accessible restaurant and bedrooms. Located opposite Charles Palmer Vineyardsm, our rural setting is an ideal place for sightseeing. Buses will stop imediately outside the Motel, we are well supported by local taxis ( Hastings Taxi is 247247 ) An excellent walk is to be had on the famous 1066 Country Trail that passes us by about 400 yards.
