Secretly tucked away in a courtyard, this delightful cottage is a restored lace runner’s cottage dating from the 1830s. As soon as you walk through the door, there is a wonderful calming ambience. Situated in the beautiful town of Ashbourne, there is everything you could need within walking distance. Ashbourne is a thriving, picturesque market town on the edge of the Peak District, and is rich in history. It comprises medieval streets and historic buildings with a wealth of independent shops. The cobbled market place, hidden alleys and courtyards are a delight to explore, and the wide and elegant Church Street is considered to be the finest street of Georgian buildings in Derbyshire. There is also a wide range of restaurants, coffee shops and family and dog friendly pubs. Ashbourne is surrounded by beautiful countryside and is an ideal base for a short break or longer holiday. If you enjoy stately homes, you are in for a treat with Chatsworth House, Sudbury Hall, Hardwick Hall, Kedleston Hall, Tissington Hall and Haddon Hall to name just a few, and are all within an easy drive. Ashbourne is known as the ’Gateway to the Peak District National Park’ and is an ideal base from which to visit many attractions, including Alton Towers Theme Park, eight miles, and the Heights of Abraham cable car rides at Matlock Bath. Beautiful Dovedale is within five miles and the Tissington Trail is within half a mile. This is the perfect destination for couples, families and groups of friends wishing to holiday together, and there is something for every budget and taste. Free WiFi Initial fuel for open fire included, thereafter available locally at cost. Bedroom 2 has zip and link beds and can be twin or double on request at time of booking. Up to one dog only, additional dog on request. The nearest Derbyshire Dales District Council (DDDC) long stay car park is 200m from the cottage. Overnight parking permit (4pm – 11am) provided. Daytime parking at DDDC charges. 3 day and 7 day rover passes available from Ashbourne Leisure Centre or via DDDC website (these can be used in any DDDC long stay car park).
