Gardener's Cottage is a charming Grade II listed 17th century thatched timber framed cottage, lovingly restored and updated while retaining many of its original features including an Inglenook fireplace and exposed beams. It has an enchanting garden at the rear of the cottage with a large terrace, fruit trees and stunning wild flower orchard. The property sleeps four in a double room with en-suite bathroom and a twin room with en-suite wc and basin – each with an individual staircase. Located in the peaceful village of Thornham Magna, the cottage sits on the edge of the Thornham Estate which offers 12 miles of fabulous walks within the estate grounds through beautiful parkland and ancient woodland. The village also has a cafe, restaurant and photographers gallery as well as The Four Horse Shoes, a well-known, popular pub within easy walking distance of the property. Attractions and nearby amenities A short drive away is the thriving market town of Diss which is the start of the popular Boudicca Way, the walking path to Norwich which is approximately 36 miles. The trail passes through many historical and picturesque towns and villages. If you are keen to play a round of golf then arrange a time at Diss Golf Course approximately 5 miles away. Nearby are some interesting and lovely sites to visit, such as Bressingham Gardens and Steam Museum or the airfield buildings of the 100th Bomb Group Memorial Museum at Thorpe Abbotts. Orford Castle, Kentwell Hall and Gardens or Snape Maltings which is home of the Aldeburgh Music Festival. Otley Hall and Yaxley Hall are 2 beautiful properties to visit as well as the National Trust's Ickworth House. Additionally, there is the stunning Helmingham Hall Gardens with its moat and 2 draw bridges which are still used every morning and night. The cottage is also only 1 hour 40 minutes' drive from London and there is the well serviced train from London to Diss. On this old coaching route and nearby to the property, you will discover the bustling, market town of Harleston with many historical buildings and a wealth of shops and restaurants.
