Casa di Maco - a beautiful villa overlooking the Sabine countryside
A beautiful villa in the Sabine countryside, built on Roman ruins, with a spectacular view of the valleys that sweeps up to the mountains of Rome, towards sunset. Here you can spend a relaxing holiday in nature, and set the starting point for excursions to Lazio, Umbria and Rome. The ideal place for those who want to spend a holiday immersed in nature, beauty and history. The house was built on a Roman ruin, one step away from what was supposed to be the gateway to the ancient city of Trebula Mutuesca. The house is surrounded by olive groves and a lovely garden at the edge of which there are two Roman pillars, which are probably the remains of the ancient gateway to the Roman city of Trebula Mutuesca, today's Monteleone Sabino. The garden borders on pristine meadows and woods and overlooks a deep valley, looking towards the sunset and towards the Soratte, the mount of Rome. The house is welcoming and rustic, and very comfortable. Under the play of the roofs supported by chestnut beams there are two bedrooms and a comfortable living room with fireplace, two bathrooms and a spacious, well-equipped kitchen overlooking the garden. The floors are all in terracotta, the bathrooms and the kitchen covered with hand-painted tiles, and the simple and well-kept furnishings. Here you can stay in great tranquility and silence, moving occasionally to go to visit Rome, Tivoli, Ostia Antica, or for a trip to Monte Terminillo (2100 meters), or to Lake Turano (only 15 km), perhaps going as far as to Perugia or Naples and back in the day. We are very close to everything, but often we feel too well here, and we prefer to stay and enjoy this beautiful nature, reading, sunbathing or picking cherries, figs and apricots to make jams. I will be on site to welcome you, and I will be happy to recommend itineraries, where to eat and have fun, to make you experience a truly unforgettable holiday.
