Curlew Cottage, Dittisham
Curlew Cottage is a picturesque holiday cottage with a stunning view of the River Dart and the surrounding countryside from the garden, conservatory and master bedroom. Located in this delightful waterside village of Dittisham. Curlew is pet friendly and perfectly equipped for four guests to enjoy a relaxing self-catering holiday. Only a short walk to all the village amenities and The Quay where you will find the ferries to Dartmouth and Greenway as well as the locally renound Anchorstone Café and Ferry Boat Inn. Accommodation: The front door opens into a small entrance hall with space for coats and boots, this leads to a cosy lounge with a brick fireplace and open fire (first basket of logs provided October to end of April), sofa and two armchairs, TV with DVD. Steps down from the lounge into the very well-equipped kitchen diner, with tiled floor, oven, hob and extractor, integrated fridge/freezer, microwave, dining table and chairs. A door from the kitchen opens into the conservatory with additional dining table and chairs, views over the garden and river. The conservatory also houses the washing machine/tumble dryer. A narrow twisting staircase from the sitting room takes you up to the two bedrooms and a bathroom. The master bedroom is at the rear of the cottage with fantastic views of the river and features an iron bedstead, chest of drawers and ensuite shower. There is a small dressing room adjoining the bedroom. The second bedroom is at the front of the cottage and has twin iron beds and a feature fireplace. The family bathroom has a bath with overhead shower, toilet and basin. At the bottom of the stairs is a small cloakroom with toilet and basin. Outside: The garden at the rear features flower beds, lawn and lovely views of the river Dart. A paved area with garden furniture allows you to make the most of this picturesque setting. Parking: There is no private parking at the cottage but you can pull up outside to unload and there are a few unrestricted spaces just along the road and ample free unrestricted parking round the corner on Riverside Road. Nearby: The village pub The Red Lion is a 2 minute walk up the road. The Red Lion also hosts the village shop and post office. A 10 minute walk will take you to The Quay where you will find the Ferry Boat Inn and The Anchorstone Cafe as well as ferries to Greenway and Dartmouth. Availability: In the peak season, May, June, July and August we need to keep to Friday changeovers and a minimum stay of 7 nights. However, please do contact us with any requests you may have and we will accommodate if possible. Out of peak season we don't need to keep to a Friday changeover.
