There is a convenient cycle track taking you straight into the historical city of Lancaster, as well as leading to Lancaster House Spa where you can enjoy a relaxing massage, Jacuzzi and swim. Cycling and walking routes continue into the Forest of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just a 10-minute drive away. Damside Cottage is 2 minutes from the motorway junction, making it a perfect base from which to explore the North West of England. Damside is also situated within a 10-minute walk of Lancaster University. The southern Lake District is a 30-minute drive away, where you can explore any of the 214 Wainwright Walks, take a boat trip on the famous Lake Windermere or simply enjoy some cocktails in Bowness’ abundance of boutique bars. Nearer to the area is the old market town of Garstang, which has lots of independent shops, pubs and a weekly market on Thursdays.
