Out and about, you can enjoy a walk at nearby Castle Eden Dene, a Site of Special Scientific Interest and home to an extraordinary variety of birds, plants and wildlife. Children will enjoy a trip to Tweddle’s animal farm or the rock pools at Blackhall Rocks. The Durham Heritage coast is within 15 minutes’ drive with Crimdon Dene beach and Seaham with its attractive seafront, marina and variety of restaurants, shops and coffee shops. Hartlepool Historic Quay is home to the Trincomalee – Europe’s oldest floating warship, where you can amble round the marina and stop for a coffee or a spot of lunch at one of the many restaurants.
