There are further pubs serving food, a general store and chip shop in the nearby village of Longnor. ( 1 mile away) Ideal for families, friends and couples including those who like walking and cycling with the Tissington and High Peak trails close by, many beautiful walks can be started from the cottage door. Perfect in autumn and winter for cosy weekends (or a week) away and lovely in spring and summer sitting on the front terrace enjoying a cool drink appreciating the stunning views. Crowdecote is a picturesque village overlooking the Dove Valley in the middle of the Peak District, 6 miles south of the Spa town of Buxton, which boasts an Opera House and Gardens among its many leisure facilities and shops and banks etc. On the outskirts of Buxton there is a supermaket with a couple of other smaller supermarkets in the town itself. Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Matlock and the famous Bakewell are approx 20-25 mins drive away.
