Weka Cottage

Perched above Waitaria Bay, this cottage sits adjacent to our farmhouse, and overlooks panoramic valley and bay views. With two bedrooms, a living room, and partially outdoor bathroom, the living space is more than doubled by a large deck with a wood-fired "KiwiTub" and bbq area. Kanuka, ferns and flax encourage tuis and bellbirds by day and morepork by night, and the local weka will pop by to visit in hopes of being hand-fed a treat. We have walking tracks through pines and native forest from our paddocks above the house, and both Mount Stokes and Punga Cove (with access to the Queen Charlotte Track) are less than an hour's drive away. Bringing a boat? We have undercover parking available with a hose, and a mooring rated for a 6m vessel just off the Waitaria Bay Jetty, or the Pelorus Sound is only a short drive over the back of the valley, with launching available in Clova Bay.
