The Farmstead @ Yellowood Farm

A renovated 1950's kit home situated alongside a small family farm. Fresh flowers and free range eggs await you. Just outside of historical Canal Winchester, this rural escape dons Mid-century Modern flair and local artwork. With two bedrooms (1 king, 1 queen) and a pull out sectional (queen) in the living room, six guests can stay comfortably. Far enough out of the city limits, star gazing is spectacular here. Walking distance to a tavern and just around the corner from local shops. Living Room: Spacious living room with pull-out queen size sectional, two large cozy chairs for reading or watching the sunset, offers plenty of ways to relax and enjoy time together. Equipped with a large TV for movie night, but a vintage tube radio for a change of pace. Dining Room: 6 person Danish modern dining table is the perfect place to play cards or raise a glass to celebrate. Curio cabinet with wine glasses, martini glasses, shot glasses, rocks glasses, ice bucket, ice crusher, bar tools and shaker, and a deck of cards. Kitchen: Electric range, retro styled fridge/freezer, farmhouse sink, coffee pot, stovetop kettle, microwave, compost pail. Cooking and baking tools and basic baking needs. For suggestions on local farm fresh produce and meats contact your host. Bathroom: Shower with sliding glass doors, high efficiency dual flush toilet, enamel vessel sink. Locally made shampoo/body wash (Glenn Ave. Soap Co.) and eucalyptus hanging in shower. Bluetooth speaker in fan. Bedroom (King): Desk with large drawers can double as a dresser. Our family home is on the farm as well. While we may be out on the farm tending to animals or our crops and flowers, we will be sure to give you your space and privacy. We would happily give you a tour of the farm and introduce you to the animals if you wish. If there are farm activities going on during your stay, we will make you aware of them during booking, so you can plan to join in if you would like, or pass if that's not your cup of tea. Set in rural Canal Winchester just outside of the historic downtown. We are 13 miles southeast of Columbus and 13 miles northwest of Lancaster. Our area is the perfect place for a drive on country roads. Beautiful farm sunsets and starlit skies are part of the reason we decided to grow here. The Farmstead is also just moments away from quaint shoppes and bakeries and family run restaurants. Across the street, a 90-acre park is developing, complete with peaceful creek-lined walking trails, a children's natural playground, sport fields and a connection point to our towns historic covered bridge. The Farmstead sits the western side of our family farm, Yellowood Farm. Our family home sits on the eastern side of the property, with our large 2,000 square foot educational garden between the two residences. We also have a sheep barn, a chicken/duck coop, and two guardian dogs (Great Pyrenees). Our farm is also home to a community project, The Garden Exchange, where the local residents are able to trade garden implements, seeds, plants and books freely with each other, cultivating a rich love for fresh food and tending to the earth. Driveway at the house fits 4 standard size vehicles. Additional parking is available in front of The Outpost (the rusty white barn and future general store for our farm).
