The Little Cottage House on Kinderhook Lake • If you are looking for a 'party' house, this is not the place for which you are surfing. Rather, one or two mature couples, or a family of four or five who wish to spend some quality time together are the guests who will get the most from this lovely lakeside setting. • Kinderhook Lake is a good size "fishin' hole" of 375 aces. It is stocked with Walleye, Northern Pike, Perch and Bass. Since the Lake is just outside the door, you can fish right off the bank. (Our own grandchildren have had a lot of fun going out with their fishing poles and then coming inside with their trophies, asking their moms to cook them.) It’s great for swimming, too. Stone steps down into the Lake make it quite easy for “little ones” or “older ones” to enjoy the cool, spring-fed waters on a hot summer day. • The Norman Rockwell Museum, Cooperstown Baseball Hall of Fame, the NYS Capitol, Tanglewood, the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Lindenwald (the family home of Martin Van Buren, our 8th President and the first born as an American citizen!), Saratoga Race Track, Lake George and “The Great Escape” amusement park – all are close enough to provide easy and entertaining day trips. Of course, you might prefer to do nothing except sit by the lake, relax and enjoy! You would always be welcome to contact me via phone or email. We still are surrounded by farms and open land; but the modern conveniences and good restaurants have arrived as well. You do need to have a car. This part of New York is marvelous.
