Water throughout the cottage has been UV treated and Reverse Osmosis filtered water is supplied at the kitchen sink. The cottage’s bedrooms and bathroom is heated with recently installed electric baseboard heaters. The primary source of heat in the living room /kitchen is the wood burning stove. We provide firewood for our guest's use. We recommend the top bunk bed in the twin bedroom is utilized by children, rather than adults. (Max. weight 250lbs-bottom bunk, 200lbs top bunk) Ceiling fans are located in the master bedroom, guest bedroom and main living room. (Ceiling fan is not located in the children's bedroom, for safety reasons, due to proximity of the top bunk to the ceiling). Primary point of entry into the lake is via wooden stairs. There is natural sand at the bottom of the stair entry and approx. water depth of 2’-3’. From that point, the water depth increases quickly so we recommend children & adults who are not strong swimmers wear life jackets. Various life jackets (including children’s) are available onsite but guests are responsible to ensure they meet their needs. During the warmer months (June – October), the dock will be available for guest use, but our boat will be docked on one side. The boat will not be available for our guest’s use. Should guests wish to rent a boat from the marina, it can be docked on the opposite side of our boat. In the winter months and on wet days, we advise guests to exercise additional caution when walking on the property, especially down to the lake. The property is hilly and outdoor paths can be slippery, especially when covered with snow/ice. Please note, ice fishing is not permitted on Chandos lake. It is guest’s responsibility to obtain the necessary licences should they wish to boat or fish on the lake. We ask that you leave the cottage in the condition you found and we will gladly refund your $500 security deposit. Guests will be provided with a detailed handbook upon arrival, outlining additional features and operational items for their convenience, safety and enjoyment.
