Dunwundrin is a 3 bedroom family house with views over the mountains on 2 peaceful acres. Less than 5 minutes’ walk from the town of Amenia with its playground, antique stores, bakeries, spa and a Four Brothers’ Pizza and Drive in Movie Theater. The house itself has all the amenities guests need including a Nespresso coffee machine in the well-stocked kitchen, and covered porch and deck with grill as well as extras like a spa-grade massage chair and home theater with 90” TV with surround sound. The house also features two workspaces and desks for anyone needing to keep up with the office. In addition, for guests travelling with children, a travel cot and changing table can be made available upon request. For outdoors activities, there are bicycles and a range of outdoor and lawn games provided. Dunwundrin is also walking distance from the Harlem Valley Rail Trail (26 beautiful miles of paved path through stunning rural landscapes) for walking, running and biking. A short drive gets you to hiking, farms, a small zoo, wineries, many high-quality restaurants and more. And in winter, the ski slopes are a 30-minute drive away. A mall with a supermarket, pharmacy, take-out restaurants and a wine and liquor store is a few minutes’ drive away. For those who may need to get into Manhattan, Wassaic train station with service to Grand Central is only 5 minutes away. The house is just west of the Berkshires where New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts meet – and the attractions of Millbrook, Millerton, Sharon and Kent are only a short distance away. Dunwundrin is a perfect retreat for anyone seeking the tranquility of the countryside with easy access to all of the convenience and charm of town life. Amenia is a small town at the West of the Berkshire mountains with two bakeries, a spa, antique stores, a library and a drive in movie theater. People are extremely friendly and open, whether you are running errands or taking a walk on the Harlem Valley Rail Trail. We have made wonderful friends in the neighborhood and beyond!
