Old Post Office, Dorsington. Hot Tub. Dogs Welcome
The Old Post Office is a quirky, Grade 2 listed, thatched cottage, dating back to the late Sixteenth Century when it was originally two tiny cottages. The cottage has been tastefully modernised whilst retaining its many original features. The Cottage has off road parking for 2 vehicles. There is a large shed/garage with lockable storage space for bikes etc, a 4 person hot tub plus a laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer. There is a lawned garden to the rear of the property, with a patio dining area and a bbq. There is a hose available for washing down muddy boots and dog paws. Downstairs we have a w/c, a modern but traditionally styled kitchen with an adjoining pantry. There are separate living and dining areas each with a wood burning stove for cosying up on chilly evenings. Upstairs there are 2 spacious bedrooms with comfortable King Sized beds and a full modern bathroom with an over-bath shower. Entire house, garage and garden. We will give you complete privacy during your stay. In the event that maintenance work such as gardening or repairs need to be carried whilst you are staying, we will always let you know in advance. A complimentary welcome basket of “essentials” will be provided for you as well as a full basket of logs for the fires. We live just 5 minutes away and are always available for assistance, local tips and guidance, if and when required. Dorsington is a picturesque, tranquil village with plenty of historic buildings and the cottage is a short walk to The wonderful Dorsington Arboretum. The village is just 7 miles to Stratford Upon Avon and less than 5 miles to the northern boundary of the Cotswolds District. Guests should be aware that the property features low ceiling beams typical of properties of this age, these are lowest in the living room and dining room. In addition, the first floor windows in the bedrooms are very low to the ground (approx 1ft) and may be a safety concern for guests with small children. Please note that we are a dog friendly property. We stipulate that dogs should not go on the furniture or beds. After a dog/dogs have stayed every effort is made to ensure that all dog hair and smells are removed but this could still be problematic for those with allergies. Due to the timber construction and thatched roof, smoking is strictly prohibited in and around the property. Candles are not permitted, however battery powered candles will be provided for you to use instead.
