Esperides - Peaceful retreat by the Ionian Sea!

Apartments "Esperides" rest among the vast sandy beautiful beaches of the Ionian coast in West Peloponnese offering easy access to the best this intoxicating region has to offer for families while some small inlets are perfect for those who are looking for a more isolated 'wild' atmosphere. Surrounded by a garden of 4000m² and situated just in front of the sea overlooking the Islet Proti Esperides are designed to provide complete privacy and view to the open sea horizon. The Houses Esperides consists of five apartments called Aegli, Arethousa, Erythia, Estia and Esperia all names of the nymphs Esperides in greek mythology. Each apartment can host five persons max. They consist of two main rooms; the bedroom which has a queen size bed and the living room with two single beds and a sofa-bed, as well as the kitchen and the bathroom. The houses dispose of a yard with lounge areas, a patio area and a balcony, ideal places from which one can relax, sunbathe and admire the splendid sunset in the Ionian open Sea and the islet Proti. Amenities The amenities and services offered by the serviced apartments are: air conditioner, radiator, hot water, TV, DVD player, electric cooker, fridge-refrigerator, coffee machine, kettle, toaster, wardrobe, sheets and towels. Clean sheets are provided every week and towels twice a week. There is parking space next to each apartment under a grape arbor. - Self-catering accommodation. - Breakfast is not provided. - Pets are allowed, please inform us at the time of the reservation - One bed for children available under request. - Outdoor BBQ grill - WiFi internet - Laundry service is available on the premises on request (€5/ 7 kg) Since my family lives near the premises please expect their help and services, from key exchanges, to change linens and towels, to repairs, and anything in between. I am always on hand for advice info and anything you may need before and during your stay. Just in front of the apartments, you do ten steps and you are in the water, an almost "private" beach of the rocky seashore with clear water overlooking the sunset on the small island Proti. It is ideal for snorkeling and diving. Near the apartments (around 300m away) there is a pool, a bar and a mini market. A long sandy beach, Lagkouvardos, is only 15 minutes walking distance (2km) far from Esperides, while 1km on the other way you find Marathopolis, a fisherman's village along the sea with wonderful seashores and beaches all around. On the pedestrian street along the sea you can find taverns and cafes, pharmacy, bakery, butcher-shop and supermarket. Furthermore, 6km from Marathopolis there is Gargalianoi village, where you can find several shops, health and bank services as well as a street market every Saturday morning with fresh vegetables and local products. The Area of West Messinia In the district of Trifylia and Pylos there are a lot of activities to do such as winetasting, trekking, biking, birdwatching and scuba diving as well as to explore the cultural heritage and enjoy the slow pace of daily life in Messinia's villages. This peaceful and close to nature retreat is perfect for relaxing holidays with various opportunities in terms of leisure and agritourism activities. UNESCO World Heritage List sites, including Ancient Olympia, the Temple of Apollo Epicurius and Ancient Messini as well as the Palace of Nestor, are all within driving distance. Grab a pair of binoculars and observe the thousands of migrating birds who visit the Yalova lagoon each year. Unique species like the African Chameleon (the only place in Europe that survives) and Caretta Caretta sea turtles among others find home in the surrounding ecosystem. Take a break and go trekking at the nearby waterfalls of Neda and Polilimnio where nature blooms. You definitely need a car to get around and explore many natural and archaeological sites of Messinia and Olympia. Esperides is a 3h and 20 minutes drive by car from Athens' airport, 60 minutes drive by car from Kalamata`s airport and 30 minutes drive by car from Kalo Nero`s railway station.
