Skelton-in-Cleveland is on a direct bus route to Saltburn, as well as both Guisborough and Whitby, offering ease of travelling without the need for a car. It also lies on the route of the Cleveland Way, which can make Saltburn a pleasant and interesting walk away. It is in a Conservation area with easy access to the whole of the North York Moors National Park
