This delightful Victorian stone cottage is a short walk from the centre of Stamford with its pubs, shops and pretty stone architecture. It is listed for 4 people, but has an additional convertible bed settee, allowing a maximum of 6 It will be available for full house rental when I am away on trips. Nb: special rates for Burghley Week. NB. I am about to lose Superhost status. Airbnb require 10 stays per year. Following a Covid break I will have had 8 in 2 months - 13 in 3. Quality remains v high The living space is comfortable and well proportioned, based on sofas. There is a television, hi fi and blue ray. There is a fully modernised kitchen with cooker, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine and drier (when needed). There is also a delightful cottage garden at the front and a small patio gardenat the back. Each of the two double bedrooms has an ensuite shower room ( one with bath). There is an additional toilet downstairs. For whole house lets, the house will be fully available. I live a short distance away and will usually be present to welcome guests, show them around and answer any questions. When I am away keys will be available from a neighbour (no. 9) who will show guests the house and should also be able to help. I should be available most times by mobile phone, or email. Stamford has a wealth of beautiful historic buildings and there are many attractions in the town and nearby: - there are plenty of excellent pubs and restaurants, including the Tobie Norris, a few minutes walk away. - there is an excellent arts centre 5 minutes walk away (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) or (Hidden by Airbnb) ), which has a cinema, live concerts and events, and streamed events ( opera, RSC, National Theatre etc) - Burleigh House and Park are just outside the town ( I often walk there). It is Elizabethan - built by William Cecil. It is the home of the international Horse Trials (early September) and hosts many big name concerts and events - shops, including M & S food, are easily walkable. - and, of course, no visit to Stamford is complete without a visit to the George Hotel - Rutland Water is 15 minutes drive away, with walks, cycling, a beach and beautiful scenery. Most amenities are within walking distance. The town is also good for cycling, being flat, but, as in many similar towns, there is more traffic than the roads can easily cope with. There is no parking at the property (a common feature of Stamford). Nearby roads have unrestricted spaces, and there are municipal car parks within a few minutes’ walk. The railway station is about 15 minutes’ walk, though there are usually taxis waiting there. The bus station is about 10 minutes away. Please note, stays during Burghley ( when available) will be at considerably increased rates. There is no parking available at the property, but unrestricted spaces can usually be found in nearby roads.
