This unique, architect designed converted chapel, believed to have been constructed in around 1778 in Cotswold stone beneath a stone slate roof, retains many original features and has been finished to a high standard with a thoughtful mix of contemporary and antique furnishings. The double height living area features four original stained glass arched windows and a glass balustrade staircase to the first floor, creating a stunning open plan space. Although many amenities selling local produce can be found in Bampton, the larger city of Oxford and Witney town are in easy reach, offering an even greater selection of shops and places to eat. Use the Seacourt Park and Ride just 30 minutes’ drive from Chapel House to visit historic Oxford. This world famous university city is chock full of museums, shops and amazing architecture. Blenhiem Palace, a remarkable English Baroque stately home with extensive parkland, offers a great day out. Dogs are permitted in the parkland where there are many walks to enjoy. Children will love Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens with its fantastic array of animals, birds and reptiles to see. Ten minutes from Bampton is Kelmscott Manor which was once the country retreat of William Morris.
