One of the "9 best airbnbs in Scotland with hot tub" (The Scotsman Newspaper) Born in (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) , Thimblewynd is a C-Listed period cottage found in the historic village of Dunning, Perthshire. Thimblewynd has grown into a luxury romantic hideaway with plenty of benefits. Secluded Hot tub experience? Yes. Log Burner? Yes. Gastropub on the corner? Yes. Village shop at the bottom of the street? Yes that as well. We are chuffed to have Thimblewynd in our lives and are delighted to share it with you. The Thimblewynd Story. Thimblewynd was created as a space to relax and get away from it all. A space for a couple to be together. It's for people who don't always fancy the formality of a hotel and find the average 'minimum night stay policy' with a holiday-let too constraining. It's a place that just feels right and a huge investment has been taken to ensure it has everything a couple may need to enjoy a special time together (hot tub, log fire, smart tv, wifi, record player, board games...) Reviews show that while guests enjoy a real sense of seclusion and getting away from it all, they also enjoy all the amenities of our village location. The local shop is incredibly well stocked and perfectly situated should you have forgotten to bring an everyday (or romantic) essential. What is particularly unique is our secluded walled garden. In the sunshine you can enjoy the hammock and bbq. In Scotland we all know you can't guarantee the weather, so we have installed covered areas to let you enjoy the space no matter what. The hot tub remains uncovered to let you star gaze together. It's pretty special. Inside, it continues to be about luxury and being together. The kitchen is fully equipped. The living space is cosy and full of stuff to do. Wifi (obviously), board games, books, a vinyl record player with LPs (or bring your own) and Smart TV (easily link to your netflix or amazon prime account). The log burner is always a hit. Upstairs you find the large bedroom, with king-size brass bed, shuttered windows and a beautiful view. The ensuite bathroom includes a drench shower, towels, robes and organic bath products. The real magic of the place hasn't just been what has been added to Thimblewynd to get it right on the inside. It is also about what is to be found in Dunning itself. Step outside and you are moments away from beautiful walks, wild swimming, fields and forests full of nature (Thimblewynd even has a returning housemartin family that lives in the adjoining vennel). The local pub on the corner (The Kirkstyle) is warm, inviting, does amazing food and live music. Another pub close by has regular open night jamming sessions. And when you return at the end of an evening, find yourself stargazing from the hot tub, with a log fire waiting in the living room you'll probably think it's been time well spent. And that should be the end of the story... But it's not, in the morning when you wake, after a luxurious drench shower and perhaps another dip in the hot tub what could be better than the best all day breakfast waiting for you at the local golf club. This, however, is just one story. Each guest at Thimblewynd will create their own.... All of Thimblewynd is yours to enjoy. For complete flexibility we offer a self check in policy (using a key box). If you prefer to be be met in person let us know and we'll organise it. We are available to answer any questions by text, phone or email at any point during or before your stay. In case of emergencies we have someone close by to help out. And then there’s Dunning… As a village, it’s probably Perthshire’s best keep secret. It’s tiny, but it holds a pay to play golf course, tennis courts, two pubs, a Michelin star restaurant down the road in Gleneagles, a pick you own fruit farm and shop, loads of walks, cycle routes and lots of history. Within 2 minutes you can find a 800 year old church built on a spot where 6 century St Serf supposedly slew a dragon. In it they’ve popped a 9th Century Pictish Carving. If you really love your history you’ll already know about the Dunning Roman camp, burning of witches and the links to the Viking Rollo. Won’t go on, but the point is it’s old and there’s stuff to look at. If that’s not enough for you, Perth is 15 minutes away by car, Glasgow and Edinburgh are 60 minutes away. Dunning is very close to the A9. That’s if the bottle of bubbly waiting in the fridge doesn’t tempt you to hang up your car keys… Car is the best way to get here as the village is set in the middle of beautiful countryside. Plenty of on-street parking. Public transport is an option. It's been done before and there is a bus stop opposite the cottage. Village service though :) Look up (Hidden by Airbnb) maps or let us work it out for you. Towels and bedding are included, along with wood for the fire. Garden hot tub is filled directly with hot water so no need to wait to enjoy your outdoor soak together. Get too hot, there's a cold tap on standby too. Fresh warm water every time and knowing that your experience is chemical free just feels better. Unique for holiday rentals. For cyclists or dog owners, you'll be pleased to know our garden is completely secure.
