This cottage is in a rural setting with Montendre just 3kms away with supermarkets, restaurants, wine bar etc. Situated in south of Charente Maritime, the property is ideally located to explore a wealth of interesting areas - Bordeaux, Royan, Cognac, Angouleme, St. Emillion and The Dordogne. We also are in easy reach of Talmont and Aubeterre, two of the Beaux Villages of France, well worth a visit. The area has lots to see and do for everyone. Libellule is newly renovated property, giving the best of both worlds, a modern spacious interior but with a real french cottage feel. The property has its own private garden with patio and dining area. This leads onto a shared garden with decked pool area and loungers, hammocks, BBQ's and additional dining table, a children's play area (swings, slide and 16ft trampoline) and access to a games room with full size table tennis table, pool table, books and games. At this time the property only has access to UK 'freeview' channels and radio. We live on site, so happy to provide information on things to see and do in the local area. Montendre is our local market town with cafes, restaurants, supermarkets and from the Chateau on the top of the hill you can see for miles across the countryside. It has a good weekly market throughout the year and a vibrant evening market during July & August where locals and visitors come together for food, music and wine. Montendre Lac is just 5kms away with a beach, swimming pool and play areas, paddle boats, canoeing and fishing. A recent addition to the town is Mysterra, a collection of mazes for all the family to enjoy. There is tennis, a 9 hole golf course and for those looking for more there are six excellent 18 holes courses within easy reach. Jonzac is 20kms to the north and has a great water park and a spa. There are many many beaches heading up and down the coast and if you fancy a climb there is the Dune de Pilat, the largest sand dune in Europe. We are 4kms from a train station in Montendre which has a good service to Jonzac, Bordeaux, Saintes and La Rochelle We do advise that people have access to a vehicle to make the best of the countryside. We have an additional property on site, Papillon, which sleeps 4 so if you wanted to extend your family group we can accommodate up to 10 (+2).
