The upstairs twin has the option of a pull out guest bed. A huge entrance hall leads to an impressive double height living room complete with wood burner, sofas for all, & TV/DVD player. A large well equipped kitchen with adjacent dining area makes this a great space for gatherings. Other properties on site are available for rent. Sorry no pets. Here at Great Gutton, we have 5 self catering cottages adjoining/surrounding the main thatched farm house. Each Cottage has its own private space but there is also plenty of garden and fields for you all to explore. We are very relaxed about folk being here and guests can choose to keep themselves to themselves, or to chit chat and make friends with fellow guests - it really is up to you!! Great Gutton is a charming Grade II* listed Devonshire Thatched Farmhouse set in 21 acres of rolling countryside, offering dog friendly (in certain properties), self catering cottages in the heart of rural Devon. With the Games room and indoor heated swimming pool open all year, there really is something for everyone – whatever the weather! Superb for large gatherings of up to 24, where folk can all have their own space but all come together, should they wish. We have secure buildings for any bikes/surfboards/fishing rods and any other paraphernalia folk wish to bring. A bank supply of cots, hi chairs and stair gates are available on request. A little bit about Mid Devon and where we are: We are 40 minutes from both the North and South coast. The busy market town of Crediton is nearby and Exeter is only 20 minutes away with its historic quayside, Cathedral and superb shopping facilities. Dartmoor and Exmoor as well as North and South Coast beaches are accessible from here. A car would be handy when staying here but there is a train station and mainline buses running from Crediton, plus local taxi firms. Greatstone Barn stands on its own and has a private patio and garden. There is parking for cars. The pool and games room are all within skipping distance. We are surrounded by fields, orchards and space and folk are most welcome to wander. We live just below in the Farmhouse and are usually pottering about and on hand should you need anything or have a question. Local knowledge is often super handy!! We are Suzi & John & have been here, with our children at Great Gutton for over 10 years. Whilst the children have nearly all left home, we love welcoming guests to stay and understand there are many reasons for choosing to come to Great Gutton. Whether it is family gatherings, celebrations, holidays, time together or simply time away from it all to relax, we try and make all things possible. Should you have any questions, then simply ping them over and I will see what I can do! Escape, Relax and Unwind...... Crediton is in the centre of Devon, nestled between Exmoor and Dartmoor, it is ideally placed for exploring this beautiful county. The North and South coasts are within an hours drive and the Eden project a similar distance.
