The Breath - a place to regain your rhythm
This house is my home: I restored and furnished it to make it the place where I want to spend time with my friends and the people I love. I rent it hoping that those who will come will be happy here as much as myself. This home is the ideal place to relax, read, sleep, paint, cook, write, make music, listen to it or just - quite simply - breathe. The house is part of a farm built at the beginning of the last century. The peasants who lived there continued to enlarge it to accommodate the new families that grew over the years. It is still possible to trace the signs of these subsequent enlargements on the exterior walls and the rooms. Today the house consists of two apartments; one is rented all year round to a family with two children, a dog and a cat, the other is the house I rent. On the ground floor, the old farmhouse with its stable now accomodates a large living room with fireplace, a kitchen, a study, a bathroom, a laundry and a storage room/cellar. The living room extends outdoors under the strawberry grape pergola; the barbeque area is located next to it. The fireplace and the barbeque are both available to guests. The first floor is accessible via a 16 step staircase. Once a barn, it now includes two bathrooms, two double bedrooms and a bedroom with two single beds. One of the two single beds is foldable and can be moved to one of the two double bedrooms. The long abandoned farmyard has been cleaned and planted: today it is the common garden of the two apartments. I do not live in the house and I will not always be able to welcome my guests in person, but I will be reachable and available to make their stay as pleasant as possible. The vineyards of Monferrato, Langhe and Roero have been recognized as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO in 2014. The gentleness of the hills, the splendor of the vineyards covering them, the beauty of villages and roads, the history encased in these valleys make these places unique. Asti and its "Palio" and "Douja d'Or", Acqui and its thermaes and spas, Turin and its many noble courts, but also small gems such as Calosso, Canelli and its historical cellars, Nizza Monferrato, Alba and Casale Monferrato are just some of the destinations that deserve a visit. Last but not least, an enviable agricultural and gastronomic wisdom: in addition to the celebrated Alba truffles, the " cardi gobbi" (cardoons) of Nizza Monferrato, the square peppers of Motta, the sweet Amaretti pastries of Mombaruzzo, the robiola of Roccaverano cheese, and of course Barbera, Barolo and Arneis, just to mention some of the wines springing from this generous land. You can reach Incisa Scapaccino by train from Asti to Nizza Monferrato and then with the ASP buses from Nizza to Incisa. A taxi service and a vehicles rental service (car, scooters and e-bikes) is available in Nizza Monferrato. Quattordio-Felizzano is the closest exit on the A21/E70 Torino-Brescia motorway. From there, following the road to Masio and Cortiglione you can reach Incisa Scapaccino in less then 18 km. The alternative exit is Alessandria Sud on the A26/E25 Gravellona Toce-Genova motorway. It’s approximately 24 km far from Incisa. Once out of the motorway, follow directions to Nizza Monferrato, then, about 16 km later, to Incisa Scapaccino. Smoking is permitted in the garden only. In Incisa Scapaccino separated waste collection is the law; guests are kindly requested to follow the guidelines in the house manual. The neighbors own a cat and, from time to time, host a dog. Both animals have free access to the garden and, if you let them, to the house too. The storage room/cellar is shared with the neighbors (they access it from a separate entrance). The water distribution unit for the whole building is in the laundry.
