Located in the quaint village of Shotley Bridge, Mill Race Cottage has beautiful interiors and premium furnishings throughout. Originally a corn mill dating back to the 1800s, the property has plenty of history within its walls. Known as Derwent Flour Mill since 1872, the site then went on to become a builders yard and only this property remains to this day. Sleeping up to six guests across three bedrooms, this stunning holiday home has everything you could want for a self-catering staycation in the North East. Whether you’re travelling with friends or family, Mill Race Cottage will certainly make an impact! Mill Race Cottage has a bright and spacious kitchen diner. Traditional in style, the kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances and cookware so you can prepare meals easily. The dining area includes a large dining table with a built in bench and velvet blue dining chairs. Large patio doors open out onto a patio area with outdoor seating. Here you can enjoy a peaceful morning coffee, alfresco meals and a tipple in the evening as the sun goes down. The property boasts a comfortable living room with a striking fireplace, two sofas and a flat screen TV. A cosy place to retreat to after a busy day exploring, you can enjoy quality time with your loved ones here. Mill Race Cottage has two en suite bedrooms on the first floor. Both rooms feature double beds with plush bedding and premium bed linens. Also on this floor is the family bathroom which has a bath, overhead shower, WC and basin. Head to the second floor and you’ll find the final two bedrooms. Great spaces for children or teenagers, one room is a twin and the other is a single. Both rooms have access to a shared bathroom with a walk in shower, WC and basin. Guests have access to the full property. The keys to the property are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date. There is free on street parking outside of the property for two vehicles. We’re always available for our guests so please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
