Don't take our word see the reviews - Accuracy would really be 3 stars, as the description and pictures did not represent the utter charm of the cottage. It is not very farm from the main roads, and the place is quiet (except for the occasional hoot from an owl) and on a clear night, stargazing opportunity is a must. Property has all the amenities needed, and the place is spotless. A-plus stay. Our words - graded 4 * by Visit Scotlandand with easy access to country walks and beaches. Just outside the sleepy hamlet of Borgue and close to the sandy and rocky coves of the Solway Firth , this is a delightful cottage converted from a former coach house and stables to provide accommodation of the highest standards with plenty of character, graded 4 * by Visit Scotland. Forming part of a traditional farm steading the cottage is tucked away in a secluded position surrounded by stunning rural scenery with easy access to country walks and beaches. Accommodation for 4 on one floor: Entrance Hall; Living room with dining area, comfortably and traditionally furnished and with an open fire; Kitchen; 1 Twin bedroom; 1 Double bedroom with en-suite shower room; Bathroom with bath (shower over) wash basin and WC. All of the house Happy to help by phone The surrounding area is teeming with an array of wildlife and is a 'Twitchers' paradise. There is much to see and do in the area and, apart from Brighouse Bay, there are plenty of sandy beaches and coves within a few minutes drive. The cottage is a few minutes' drive from Brighouse Bay Golf Course & Leisure Club which has several leisure activities including a swimming pool and a superb cliff top golf course. It also offers a bar and eating facilities. The area has wonderful sporting facilities including game, sea and coarse fishing. Kirroughtree, part of the Galloway Forest offers a stage of the 7stanes Mountain Bike trail, with others a little further afield at Dalbeattie, Mabie & Ae Forests. There are numerous opportunities for walking be your preference for beach & cliff top walks or more strenuous hill walking. Golfing is available at Brighouse Bay or there are numerous courses within Dumfries and Galloway all within easy reach. The nearest town, Kirkcudbright, 'The Artists Town', has a number of interesting galleries, Broughton House and Garden (National Trust for Scotland) and a busy working harbour and marina.
