Log Cabin in the Loire Valley

Perfect for 2 people, this cosy cabin with all the necessary mod cons is situated in an ideal location for walking, cycling, wine tasting, chateaux visiting or just relaxing. Cool in summer and heated by a wood burning stove in winter. Situated half way between the towns of Angers and Saumur (30kms), our log cabin in Ambillou Chateau is within easy access to many beautiful sites and is an ideal base to explore the Loire Valley. Located at the rear of our (300m2) garden the cabin is 25 square metres (269 square feet) and is equipped with a sofa, table and chairs, induction hot plate, a fridge, and an adjoining bathroom (separated by a curtain) with shower and toilet. Internet access is available (with or without wifi). Sheets and towels are provided. There is a choice of sleeping area; a mezzanine with access by a ladder, or in the living area where there is a very comfortable sofa bed. During the winter the cabin is heated by a log burning stove (believe me, you won't be cold!) It's well insulated which makes it warm in the winter and cool in the summer. The table and chairs under the pine tree outside can be used for meals in summer. A barbecue is also available for use. The Loire Valley is a UNESCO world heritage site and is an area of diverse attractions and landscapes that today make it one of the most popular places for tourists in the whole of France. It is probably best known for its architectural heritage, most famously its chateaux. Several beautiful, historic towns, including Angers, Saumur and Chinon, are situated within easy driving distance and are well worth a visit. There is also much to do in the surrounding area during your stay, including hiking, swimming and bike riding, and visiting the numerous impressive attractions which will both entertain and inspire you. We are fairly laid back but one thing we do ask is that there is no smoking in the cabin - we'd like to keep it smelling of wood and not woodbines! Getting here is a piece of gâteau! By Car: From any of the Normandy or Brittany ports. The quickest and easiest journey being 3 hours from Caen (Ouistreham). By Train: With Eurostar from London. The route London-Angers via Lille is the best option. You change at Lille for the Angers train and don't even have to change platforms. Going via Paris is a little more challenging as you have to cross Paris to make the Angers connection. By Plane: To Angers (Marcé) Airport from London City Airport with City Jet. Situé dans le calme de notre jardin (300m2) à l'arrière de notre maison, la cabane de 25 mètres carrés est équipé d'un canapé, table et chaises, plaque chauffante à induction, d'un réfrigérateur et d'une salle de bains avec douche et WC. L'accès Internet est disponible (avec ou sans wifi). Draps et serviettes sont fournis. Il y a un choix de la zone de couchage, une mezzanine avec accès par une échelle, ou dans le salon où il y a un canapé-lit très confortable. Pendant l'hiver, la cabine est chauffée par un poêle à bois (croyez-moi, vous n'aurez pas froid!) Il y a aussi une table et des chaises sous le sapin à l'extérieur où vous pourrez prendre vos repas en été. Un barbecue est également disponible. Le Val de Loire est inscrit au patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO et est une zone de diverses attractions et des paysages qui forment aujourd'hui l'un des endroits les plus populaires pour les touristes dans toute la France. Il est probablement mieux connue pour son patrimoine architectural, le plus célèbre de ses châteaux. Plusieurs belles villes historiques, y compris Angers, Saumur et Chinon, sont situés à une courte distance en voiture et valent bien une visite. Il ya aussi beaucoup à faire dans les environs pendant votre séjour, telles que la randonnée, la natation et le vélo, et visiter les nombreuses attractions impressionnantes qui permettra à la fois divertir et vous inspirer. Nous sommes assez décontracté mais une chose que nous demandons, c'est qu'il y est interdit de fumer dans la cabane - nous aimerions garder l'odeur du bois.
