Ivy Cottage
A beautifully presented traditional cottage located in the village of Beguildy near to Knighton in Powys, mid Wales. Retaining much of its original charm and character, the cottage has an abundance of traditional features including exposed brickwork and beams, and traditional doors. The pretty village of Beguildy features a Black and White timbered pub serving real ale and home-cooked food. There are plenty of walks and cycling routes just on the doorstep of this cottage. Double copper sink in the kitchen Window Seats in each of the rooms Original floorboards are exposed in both of the bedrooms The Cottage dates back to the 1700's so you may notice some quirky little things that you wouldn't find in a modern house. For example, the light switches are a little random but we are sure you would works things out! The kitchen houses a stunning double copper sink for you to wash your dishes as you gaze out onto the luscious green fields through the kitchen window. We don't live in the village so are unable to meet our guests, however we are at the other end of a phone and can easily pop over if you need anything. The locals are really friendly! The pub food is good and the village shop is small and quirky. There is a large open hill (approx. 5000acres) just up the road from the cottage so there is ample space for guests who enjoy walking. The allocated car parking spaces for Ivy Cottage are located about 30 meters away from the cottage , but in view from the kitchen window. There is a train station in near by Knucklas (approx. 5 miles away) which is the main Shrewsbury to Swansea Line. The enclosed garden is a short walk from the property. You can locate it by walking up to the church graveyard and bearing to the right. Enter the garden through the small wooden gate which is along the church wall with the sign ‘private’. Please be very careful and use the handrail provided. Logs and starter sticks are available but we would appreciate a donation in the honesty box.
