The Macadamia Suite is located on our beautiful 15 acre property Turkey's Nest, a registered wildlife refuge surrounded by pristine rainforest. Mount Glorious is just 40km from Brisbane CBD, close to the city, yet a world away! Escape from the bustle of city life, with cosy fire and serene forest views, romantic canopy bed, and relaxing claw-foot bath. The Macadamia Rainforest Suite is a private, self-contained studio, designed to provide the ultimate in privacy and relaxation. It occupies a separate wing of our house, and has a private entry from, and access to, the verandah which overlooks the rainforest. It is a perfect place to escape the bustle of everyday life. The Macadamia Rainforest Suite features beautiful rose gum timber panelling, a relaxing claw foot bath, a bay window and dining nook looking out to the forest, cosy fireplace, kitchen, and lounge. Cooking facilities consist of a two-burner electric cook top, an electric frypan and a barbeque. We take pride in the homely atmosphere, tasteful decor, attention to detail, and the personal touches of flowers, candles, chocolates and port. The suite offers access to the verandah with outdoor seating and a barbeque. Guests are welcome to explore our extensive rainforest property, including our rainforest track. Turkey's Nest is close to the local cafés and restaurant, and is less than a kilometre from the Maiala section of D'Aguilar National Park which has a picnic area and a variety of bush walking tracks. Peace and privacy for our guests is our main aim. The studio forms a separate wing of the house and is accessed via a private entrance. No-one goes past your door, and the suite is separated from our living areas by two doors and an unused room, making it totally peaceful and private. However we are available onsite should you need anything. Mount Glorious is surrounded by D'Aguilar National Park. There are beautiful walking tracks through both rainforest and gum forest. At 620m above sea level, it is cooler than Brisbane in summer, and can get quite cold and misty in winter - a good time to sit in front of the fire with a glass of wine and a good book! Mount Glorious village has several cafes for daytime dining. A beautiful sculpture garden, in a rainforest setting, is open on Sundays. Day trips in the Brisbane Hinterland take you to Fernvale, Esk, Wivenhoe Dam, Dayboro and Mount Mee. There are no food stores at Mount Glorious. The nearest supermarket and shops are at Samford (20 mins). Unfortunately there is no public transport to Mount Glorious. Access is by car only. Parking is on site, beside your accommodation. We have many regular guests, and enjoy meeting the many travellers who come to Mount Glorious to relax and spend a quiet time together, and savour a forest environment so close to the city. Our cottages and suite all have a warm and welcoming atmosphere, to which we add features such as port, home-made chocolates, candles and fresh flowers.
