A superbly situated and spacious traditional country cottage with panoramic views of unspoilt farmland in the foreground, the Galloway hills to the east and the Solway Firth and Wigtown Bay to the south. Awarded 3 stars by Visit Scotland, the cottage has everything needed for a comfortable stay, including natural wood fixtures and fittings, a log burning open fire, garden furniture. Accommodation for 8 on two floors: Ground Floor: Living Room with open fire and double sofa bed; Sun lounge/Conservatory; Fully fitted Kitchen with dining table; Double Bedroom; Twin bedroom; Bathroom with bath, over bath shower, wash basin and WC; Utility room. Staircase leading to open first floor gallery with double bed and shower room off containing shower, wash basin and WC. All of the house. Happy to help by phone. With access via a farm road, the property offers a fantastic 'getaway from it atmosphere' without being too isolated. If you're looking to indulge a little, Gatehouse of Fleet, the Artist Town of Kirkcudbright and Food Town of Castle Douglas are less than half an hour's drive and offer an array of fantastic cafes, restaurants and shops. Or you can simply sit back and watch pheasant and hares from the comfort of the Living room sofa. The enclosed three quarter acre garden is all that most energetic children could wish for however the Cocoa Bean Chocolate Factory at nearby Twynholm, with its very own indoor and outdoor play areas is always a winner. Beautiful sandy beaches can be found at Carrick and Brighouse Bay, where there is also a fantastic golf course and swimming pool. Sandgreen beach, close to where the famous Cream o' Galloway ice cream is made and sold, is also only a short drive away. Excellent fishing (both course and game), coastal walks and cycling can also be found in the local area. A perfect property for a quiet getaway or a fun filled family holiday! Car essential. No Smoking Dogs welcome, sorry no cats accepted. EXTRAS: £20 per dog per week
