Casa Minorca - Slow Living House

Casa Minorca is a "vintage" family house, with a very own personality, in the center of the village of Maiorca and accommodating up to 8 people. It is located between hills and rice fields of Baixo Mondego, 15 minutes from the beaches of the beautiful Figueira da Foz, 30 minutes from historic Coimbra and is close to Montemor-o-Velho. Here we want you to feel at Home, happy, present in the moment! That you profit the time, and enjoy all the "Slow Living" spirit. It is a familiar house, restored, which maintains all its original features, with a revivalist-vintage decoration, and a warm, comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. It consists of four rooms, each with its own “it”, with fans and heating. All have their own bathroom, with shampoo, shower gel and hairdryer. Tranquility and a good mattress guarantee a restful sleep. To gather and connect family and friends, the living room has many entertainments (instruments, games... and TV) and the dining room has a communal table. The kitchen is equipped with the necessary utensils and appliances and we provide some supplements so that you don't lack anything basic for cooking. A corner with a vertical “garden” communicates with the kitchen and pantry for storing food & beverages, and household items. There is parking near the house. Maiorca is a lovely and peaceful village, a land of traditions with a natural charm, as much for the nature that surrounds it as for its history and heritage. Its people are friendly and welcoming, with their sung accent. It is famous for its rice pudding, perhaps the best in Portugal, and is very lively for its philharmonic band and folklore, in parties and pilgrimages. Casa Minorca is located right in the historic center of the village, two steps away from the pharmacy and red cross, the post office, the church and local shops: mini-market, bakery/pastry with light meals, magazines, newspapers & tobacco. The traditional fish and bread vans honk daily. Nearby there is an ATM, other cafes, a butcher, a restaurant-takeaway serving Portuguese cuisine, as well as a pub with music and snacks. It also has a picnic area and a public swimming pool open in summer. Access to Maiorca is greatly facilitated by road (motorways A1, A14 and A17 that connect the south and north to the center of the country), rail (CP) and the national express (both in Figueira da Foz). But if you need a taxi or a shuttle to get to our Casa, we can manage it for you! Lisbon international airport is 198 km away and Porto airport is 150 km away. Our house is environmentally friendly, so we have ecofriendly practices, of conscientious consumption, following the principle of R's (reuse, recycle, refuse), trying to eliminate plastic as much as possible and using biodegradable cleaning products.
