Kookaburra Retreat is a completely private self contained retreat adjoining our house and located on the very edge of Aussie bushland with abundant wildlife. Kookaburras will laugh with you and possums and wallabies may visit you at night. The resident brush turkeys often parade through for a visit and Chloe, our cat, is always up to greeting guests, looking for a pat and a cuddle. If you are visiting family or friends, attending a local wedding, attending a course or just planning a family getaway, come and experience what Kookaburra Retreat has to offer. Sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful bushland setting and wildlife at your doorstep as well as the serenity it provides. If you like peace and quiet, this is the place for you. Enjoy exploring the surrounding bushland and the many bushwalking tracks which are accessible from the backyard and within the area. The Great North Walk is very close by. Stop in overnight or stay longer and enjoy the many shorter walks on offer. Do as much or as little as you want. There is so much to discover and the stars shine so much brighter away from the city lights. You will have your own private "West Wing" with plenty of room. Kitchen, dining, lounge, toilet and verandah downstairs with direct access to the backyard and bush. Two bedrooms, a bathroom and balcony are upstairs. 1 x King bed with walk in robe 1 x Queen bed All linen and towels are supplied. Soap and shampoo are also supplied. Kitchen: fridge, cook top, microwave, toaster, kettle, electric wok, cookware, crockery, cutlery & glassware Breakfast cereal (2 options) and milk available Tea, coffee and sugar available Electric BBQ TV, Foxtel, DVD/Blue Ray/Stereo, Free WiFi Books, Games, Puzzles Hairdryer Iron and ironing board All facilities within the retreat and backyard are available for use. In the colder months, a fire pit is available (fire restrictions dependant). Off street parking is available for 1 car. We will meet and greet whenever possible, otherwise keys will be available in the key box to enter and get settled. We are happy to assist with any requirements. Our neighbourhood is very quiet. The local shopping centre and restaurants are nearby for all your requirements. Berowra Waters and Brooklyn on the Hawkesbury River are only a short drive away. Kookaburra Retreat is about a 45 minute drive to the city or you can relax and take the train (approx. 1 hour). Bus services are available from the end of the street which can take you to Berowra railway station or within the local area. Courtesy buses are available to the local pub and RSL club. Berowra Train Station (North Shore, Northern & Western Line). Trains to the city take approx 1 hour. Location: 5 km off the Pacific Motorway (F3) (Berowra exit), 5 km to Berowra Water, 14 km to Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital, 18 km to Brooklyn, 50 km from Sydney Airport - Drive, Taxi, Train or Shuttle options. All linen and towels are supplied. Soap and shampoo are also supplied. A folder is available within the retreat to assist with the many places to visit and things to do. We are also happy to assist with anything wherever possible. 1 night minimum stay - midweek 2 nights minimum stay - weekends Weddings/Functions - If you are looking for a location for a small wedding or function, please feel free to contact us to discuss.
