The farm is great for walking especially down to the Waiongana River for a picnic or even a swim in the warmer months. There is a hammock. Out the gate and we can direct you to some other walking or biking options. We have a very friendly dog Ricky who likes to retrieve sticks and balls, A cat Buddy-champagne coloured(boy) very verbose, Mocka new addition 2020 but has a nurological problem brain doesnt tell her back end what to do but shes happy! Highlight of the Taranaki region include Pukekura Park, Mt Taranaki, The Len Lye Centre, Puke Ariki Museum, close to fantastic beaches for fishing surfing and strolling especially along the coastal walkway. Speaking of which there are numerous walkways, cafes and restaurants which we can recommend. Own transport preferable because of rural location. We are a 10-15 min drive from New Plymouth central and 25 minutes from the mountain. We have lots of parking spaces available and could easily accommodate boats or even house trucks. There is a local supermarket at Waitara 5 min drive away(closes at 7.30) and a great foodie hub at the Waitara Binn Inn. They have the best cheeses! Lots of organic and gluten free products also. Supermarkets in New Plymouth open late. Lots of great restaurants and takeaway food if required. Rooms have coffee and a good tea selection. The milk supplied is from Dollys organic and unpasturised. The local supermarket is only a 5 min drive at the local township of Waitara. Closes at 7.30 though! Lots of other supermarkets cafes and restaurants in New Plymouth only 10-15 min drive.
