This rural village is just a 10 minute drive from the sea and some of the most stunning beaches in the UK. The The King William is the village pub serving excellent food and drinks. Explore the Peddars Way which is an ancient long distance path running right through Norfolk and joins the Norfolk coastal path. So if you are feeling adventurous then you can walk all the way to the beach from here!, or just to the neighbouring village of Ringstead for an excellent meal at the reputable The Gin Trap Inn, popular for its 100 different gins. The area is rich in natural beauty and heritage. In winter it's a great place to see the huge flocks of geese and waders in the surrounding fields and on The Wash, or head to nearby Snettisham and during some of the winter months you can enjoy the 'pinky breakfast' - get down there very early in the morning and enjoy a walk with an RSPB warden and then watch in awe as the geese fly over from the marsh inland to feed on the sugar beet fields.. The sight is one to behold and the noise is deafening! Being only a short drive from several glorious beaches, including Holme, Brancaster and Old Hunstanton, as well as Snettisham, you have plenty of choices. If you are wanting some culture, head to the regular art exhibitions at Houghton Hall, visit the house or a short drive away is the Sandringham Estate where of course you can visit HM The Queen's private house and explore the woodland and parkland that surrounds it. A visit to the National Trust houses further afield at Blickling and Felbrigg are also worth a visit, as is a trip to beautiful Holkham Hall and its private beach, where in the summer you might see the Household Cavalry horse exercising during their summer holiday.
