Wanderlust ....luxury in Mt Macedon

Wanderlust is a beautiful 4 bedroom home set in an acre of bushland on Mount Macedon.The house has spectacular views over Hanging Rock and the Cobaw ranges. Enjoy all that the Macedon Ranges has to offer. Wanderlust was build in 2010 and was designed to take full advantage of the spectacular views over Hanging Rock. When you wake up in the master bedroom or one of the two bedrooms (one double room and one single room with trundle), Hanging Rock is there to wow you. The kitchen and dining area features a large window which frames the view fantastically and the large sliding doors from the living area lead you to a large deck where you can relax and enjoy the sounds from the forest, gaze at the stars and off course catch another view of the Rock. The down stairs area has another bedroom with a queen size bed and there is a small lounge room. Both these rooms have sliding doors leading to the lower garden. We are frequently visited by kangaroos, wallabies and kookaburra's. Occasionally you can encounter an echidna or a wombat or hear the mating call of a koala in the forest. Also spectacular are the wedge tailed eagles soaring overhead looking for prey. The house is heated with a large fire box and the hydronic heating system keeps the whole house warm and cozy. There are two bedrooms with queen size beds and one bedroom with a double bed and one room with single bed plus trundle. The master bedroom has an en-suite with shower and the main bathroom has a shower and a large bath. Wanderlust is located in the forest on Mount Macedon. There are some fantastic short walks that for instance lead you through the forest to the Camels Hump. A 10 km walk return brings you to the Cross on Mount Macedon or if you are keen you can walk the Macedon Ranges Walking Track which is around 20 km's. If you are a keen cyclist then Mount Macedon road and Straws lane will get your heart pumping. Mount Macedon village is a 6 kilometer drive. The local pub in Mount Macedon has great meals and has a cozy bar and a great outdoor beer garden. Woodend is also 6 km away and has some nice restaurants, bars and shops. The nearest supermarket and petrol station is in Woodend. Other places to go are Trentham (Metropolitan hotel) and Kyneton with its many beautiful restaurants in famous Piper Street. Of course you will have to climb hanging rock or visit one of the many wineries in the region. The house can be easily reached from the Calder freeway or you can take the train to Woodend on the Bendigo line and call a cab to take you from the station to our house. The cab charge is around $15. The house is not available on days when the CFA rates the fire danger as Extreme or Code Red.
