Pendra Loweth is an award-winning garden holiday village that was constructed in a picturesque wooded valley just outside of Falmouth, there are tennis courts, a playground, gym and splash pool (splash pool currently closed due to COVID restrictions) as well as a small bar/cafe all available to those on-site. Stream Side is a beautifully presented cottage, with an open plan kitchen - brand new (2020), lounge and diner, French doors that lead onto a south-facing private terrace which is a sun-worshippers dream in the summer months. Upstairs the master bedroom has views of the stream and woodland beyond. Stream Side is the perfect location for a family holiday or a romantic couples getaway. A twenty-minute walk down the tranquil valley from Pendra Loweth will bring you to the golden sands of Maenporth Beach where you will find a superb beach cafe and the fabulous Cove Restaurant which has just been acquired by Michael Caines. Falmouth is a short drive away and here you can enjoy the wealth of fine restaurants and thriving pubs that this vibrant town has to offer. Explore from the Prince of Wales Pier to Custom House Quay, Events Square, where the Falmouth Oyster Festival and the shore-side activities for Falmouth Week are based, and the National Maritime Museum. There are also regular ferries from the Prince of Wales Pier and Custom House Quay that are well worth a day trip with destinations such as the beautiful St Mawes and the Roseland Peninsula or further up the River Fal to Trelissick Gardens, Malpas or Truro. Alternatively, you can explore down the Lizard and find the majestic lighthouse and England's most southerly headland and lighthouse, the stunning Kynance Cove or the quiet of the Helford River and the inspiration for Daphne Du Maurier's Frenchmans Creek. Accommodation Ground Floor: Small entrance porch to the front door which enters into the corridor with stairs to the first floor, WC with hand basin, Open plan kitchen/living room and diner. The kitchen is brand new with fully fitted units and appliances, there are comfortable sofas, dining table and chairs, Smart TV with catch up, French doors leading to the private terrace: First Floor: The stairs open onto a landing with doors to; Master bedroom with 4'6" bed and storage and views over the stream, en suite shower room with WC and hand basin. Twin bedroom with 3' beds and storage, woodland views to the rear. Family bathroom with shower over the bath, WC and hand basin. Exterior: There is a designated parking space 20m from the property and other visitors' spaces if required in the communal parking area. There is a private patio with picnic table and benches, a comfortable rattan sofa and chairs, a charcoal kettle barbecue. There are also communal gardens throughout the village with areas laid to lawn and plenty of woodland walks. Facilities & Services There is electric heating throughout with on-demand radiators downstairs and night storage heaters on the first floor. The kitchen has a range of cupboards & worktops. There are an electric oven and hob, a microwave, toaster, kettle, dishwasher, combined fridge and freezer. The sitting room has a digital Smart TV with catch up and Netflix. There are a cot and highchair available on request. There are a combined washer/drier and separate communal laundry facilities on site. There is unlimited broadband WiFi. There are stair gates available if required. Miscellaneous Electricity, heating, bed linen and towels are included but you will need to provide your own beach towels. There is parking available for 1 car in a designated parking slot outside the property and a second in the communal parking area if required. Regrettably, there is no smoking. A maximum of 2 dogs may stay in the property at a small additional price of £30.00 per dog per week. Pendra Loweth is a holiday village, and the PL management company stipulates on behalf of owners that sign written or trade vehicles are not parked on site, nor any business stays. . General Booking Information Arrival / Departure is normally a Saturday. Short breaks are available during quieter periods. £250 pre-authorised to your credit or debit card as a security deposit is required. Pendra Loweth is a beautiful, award-winning garden village situated in the tranquil, south-facing, Maen Valley that winds down towards Maenporth Beach. The village has been artfully crafted around stunning woodlands and a little stream that merrily babbles away as it passes the cottages under ornate little bridges, a fabulous location for a quick game of pooh sticks. The gardens and shared, communal areas are delightful, and each property also has a private patio. On-site are a gym, splash pool, play area and tennis courts. Falmouth is one of Cornwall's most popular places to visit because of its unique mix of attractions, water sports, beaches, history and places to eat. The National Maritime Museum, Cornwall and Pendennis Castle are both high on visitors lists of places to visit and the views from Pendennis on a fine day a truly magical. Falmouth is the sailing capital of Cornwall with its spectacular deep-water natural harbour offering a haven for both cruisers and racers. Many events are held through the summer culminating in the famous Falmouth Regatta Week and associated shore side events. The beaches at Maenporth, Gyllyngvase & Swanpool are coarse sand and are wonderfully sunny south facing spots. You can ride the ferry to beautiful St Mawes for the day or take a delightful trip around the estuary stopping off at either Trelissick Gardens, Malpas or Truro. There are plenty of places to eat & drink in Falmouth and recently Rick Stein has opened his Fish & Chip Restaurant & Oyster Bar at Discovery Quay adding to the superb mix across the town. Michael Caines has just purchased the wonderful Cove Restaurant where you can soak up the atmosphere, enjoy a fine meal and marvel at the fabulous views across the beach and Falmouth Bay towards St Anthonys Lighthouse. A short drive away is the Helford River. This delightful part of Cornwall includes places such as Mawnan Smith, Helford Passage, Constantine & Gweek. The area has many delights such as Trebah and Glendurgan Gardens, The Seal Sanctuary at Gweek, Goonhilly Earth and Satellite Station and The Ferry Boat Inn. Daphne du Maurier wrote her only romantic novel Frenchmans Creek about the River Helford, and who can blame her, the views really are beautiful. Glendurgan Gardens, run by the National Trust, hold a 176-year-old laurel maze and the 'Giants Stride' swing is very popular with children. St Anthony-in-Meneage holds a lovely little church primarily of medieval architecture. The Lizard Lighthouse is mainland Brittain's most southerly point and a truly majestic, especially if it is windy. Kynance cove is truly amazing in fine weather, Coverack, Cadgwith and Porthleven are also well worth a visit. There is a large Asda on the outskirts of Penryn, and a Sainsbury's in Falmouth.
