TAHAWAI COUNTRY RETREAT - Our beautiful green oasis at the foot of the Kaimai Ranges Spend an unforgettable holiday in the enchanting countryside at the foothills of the Kaimai Ranges. Surrounded by a stunning landscaped garden, the Tahawai Country Retreat is a hidden gem set among half a hectare of lush greenery. An architecturally designed & built holiday home, just 5 mins drive to Katikati township, 15 mins to Waihi/Waihi beach, 45 mins to Tauranga/Mount Maunganui & 50 mins to Whangamata. Tahawai Country Retreat offers a haven of peace and tranquility against the backdrop of native bush and a home orchard, giving a new meaning to "getting away from it all". It is the perfect place for nature-lovers, a quiet retreat for busy city folks, artists and writers, or a romantic weekend getaway. Wake up to the peaceful sound of native birds, enjoy the company of our feathered friends and farm fresh eggs, help yourself to our organic seasonal orchard fruit, or read a book under the shady London Plane tree. A retreat with a full kitchen which makes it suitable for a long stay. The large wooden deck extends the living area into outdoor alfresco dining. The house is has a modern kitchen, bathroom and furnishings. Aircon/heat pump in the open plan lounge. Non-smoking environment. Guests enjoy their own private parking at the retreat house. In view of COVID health and safety procedures, we have: 1) Enhanced our cleaning operation, ensuring all COVID precautions are adhered to 2) The house is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before and after each booking 3) We observe a 48 hour stand-down between bookings, to enable us enough time to disinfect and clean the house When guests arrive at the Tahawai Country Retreat, we meet them and we will show you around the property and introduce you to our small family farmyard pets. While you are staying here, the retreat house and gardens will be your own private oasis. We happily offer tips and ideas for enjoying the Bay of Plenty and Coromandel, and readily available if you need assistance. We use fresh linen on the bed, fresh towels /hairdryer in the bathroom. Complimentary tea/ coffee/ sugar/ salt/ pepper in the cupboard and cow's milk in the fridge. Discover the quaint mural town of Katikati - 5mins drive - or one of the nearby beaches - we are just 15mins drive to Waihi Beach, 50mins to Whangamata and 45mins to Mt Maunganui. Take a day trip to hike/cycle in the Karangahake Gorge, go cycling around the shores of the Bay of Plenty - take your pick from the endless amount of activities available at your doorstep. And at the end of the day, sit back and relax with a glass of local wine and watch the colours of the sky turn into a starry night vista from the privacy of your own deck. HOUSE RULES & POLICIES OF TAHAWAI COUNTRY RETREAT We would prefer our guest/s have at least 1 or more positive recommendations from other hosts (Website hidden by Airbnb) NO EARLY CHECK-IN BEFORE 3 PM. To ensure your health and safety requirements are met, our cleaners require enough time to prepare the house for upcoming bookings. The Tahawai Country Retreat is NOT a self check-in accommodation. Check-in 3pm-9pm. Please email the Host with your estimated time of arrival. Guest/s must present themselves at the MAIN HOUSE on arrival. Guest are requested to present a valid unexpired government ID on check-in. Fee $10.00 will be charged to guest/s who lost cottage key. Smoking/Drugs are NOT PERMITTED inside the house or anywhere on the property and surrounding areas. Please remove your shoes before entering the cottage. Please clean up any spills immediately. Please do not chop food on top of or place hot pots onto the countertops - we provide cutting boards and trivets for guests to use. Please be careful not to sit on furniture in wet clothing or with suntan oil on, as these can permanently discolour or stain the upolstory Portable gas cookers are STRICTLY prohibited for use outside or inside the house. Please turn off all electrical equipment, AC unit, lights, and fan while you're outside of the house, to conserve energy. Please close all windows and lock-up the house each time you head out. We ask that all guests observe quiet time from 10 pm - 7 am. Please do not move or remove any house furniture or fixtures without Host consent. Please report any breakages to your Hosts, as soon as they happen, so that we can safety clean and replace items. Additional charges will apply. The Tahawai Country Retreat runs on a septic tank system - please do not flush anything other than toilet paper. We do not allow tents. Please highlight to us (prior to completing your booking) if you would like to add an extra guest to your booking. All guests must be approved prior to your stay. Late check-out after 11 am - charge of full night rate will apply. Requests for : Extra pair of linens/towels- charge of $50 will apply Extra cleaning - charge of $30 will apply. Guest/s must leave the house in clean and tidy order as found on arrival.
