The Roost: Hutchins Lake Waterfront Dream Cottage! Enjoy lake views, fishing, swimming, and more! The Roost Tucked on the shores of Hutchins Lake, The Roost is the ideal spot to enjoy lake life during all four seasons! You will love the waterfront location of this cottage. Enjoy 120 feet of private frontage on this sandy bottom, spring fed, all sports lake. Do a cannon ball off the end of the dock into the clear waters, set up your pole for an afternoon fishing, or just sit back and enjoying a veverage while watching the water. The waterside deck is perfect for taking a nap in the sunshine or visiting with loved ones. Just off the deck in the yard is a fire pit perfect for the evenings (fire pit coming June 2022). Head up to the next tier of decking where you`ll find a bird`s eye view over the water. Head just a bit further into the backyard where you could take part in a competitive lawn game or enjoy a meal at the picnic table on the patio. The main level of The Roost is spacious and sprawling offering plenty of areas for your group to spend time together or to get a bit of alone time. Flowing and open great room has space for everyone. The main living room boasts full views out over Hutchins Lake, a flat screen smart TV, ample seating, and a seasonal (winter only) fireplace. You will love the large dining table that seats up to 12 with additional seating for 2 at the adjacent snack bar. Just off the dining area is access to the upper deck. Here you will find outdoor dining and a gas grill for your use. The grill is plumbed into the house gas line so you`ll never run out of propane! If you`re looking to cook up a quick breakfast before heading out for the day or a large holiday meal, this kitchen has everything you need. More than enough counter work space, plenty of storage for all your snacks, pots and pans, and small and major appliances, we have it all. Even doing the dishes will be a treat as you`ll have stunning views of Hutchins Lake to enjoy. Adjacent to the kitchen area you`ll find a sunny den perfect for curing up with a good book or getting some work done. This room has a twin day bed for extra sleeping, but please note there are no doors and no window coverings for privacy. Also on the main level are three bedrooms and a bathr and a half. The master bedroom has a king size bed, full views of Hutchins Lake, and a full ensuite bathroom with shower tub combo. This is the only full bathroom on the main level. Each of the guest bedrooms have a queen size bed and there is a convenient half bathroom wtih bidet. Head down stairs where you`ll find so much more space to enjoy. The lower level family room has a Smart TV, DVD player, and over 100 DVDs to pick from. This is a great spot to curl up on a cloudy day and veg out with a movie. The adjacetnt kitchenette laundry area has a washer dryer for your use, sink, and microwave to pop some popcorn for your movie. There is also a large table which would be perfect for bringing out your competitive side with one of the many offered board games. The lower level also has three bedrooms and a spacious full bathroom. The first guest bedroom is a large queen room with lots of space. This room is set apart from the others offering a bit more privacy. Bedrooms five and six offer a total of three twin bunk beds and a day bed with trundle. These rooms are cozy and cute, but please note there is not a door between them. From back in the lower level living room you can take advantage of the direct access to the patio and yard leading out to the tiered decking and water. Located on Hutchins Lake in Fennville, you`ll be nearby to many attractions and activities. A selection of breweries and wineries are all within a few miles away including Fenn Valley Winery, Virtue Cider, and Modales Wine. Just up the road you`ll also find Crane`s where you can take part in the many seasons u-pick options, enjoy lunch at the restaurant, or pick up a pie to bake at home. Downtown Fennville, Saugatuck, Douglas, and South Haven are all less than 25 minutes by car. Here you`ll find shops, restaurants, theaters, art galleries, and more. Our area has something for everyone. This home shouts FUN! From the water activities to the large Smart TVs to the many DVDs, board games, and even a basketball hoop in the driveway, there will be plenty to keep your group enjoying their time away. Please Note: The boat dock is only available during the summer months. No boats can be tied to the dock! The pilings are not grounded and tying a boat to the dock will result in the dock moving and possibly coming apart. The expense of putting it back would be at your cost. Please do not tie a boat to the dock! This home is on a septic system. Pleaes do not flush anything other than toilet paper. Flushing other items, such as feminine products, will result in the sewer backing up into the showers. This home is receives water via a well. The water is filtered and softened, but will still be very different tasting and smelling than city water. If you have never experienced well water, we recommend bringing bottled water to drink. There is one full bathroom on the main level and the only access is through the master bedroom. There is not a door between bedrooms 5 and 6. There are no doors and no window coverings on the den which offers a day bed for additional sleeping. Guests have access to the entire home and property, except the locked owner closets. We are reachable 24 hours a day, 7 days a week should you need help with anything during your stay. Located on the shore of Hutchins Lake, you will love experiencing all that lake life has to offer. This all sports, spring fed lake is the perfect place for fun. Jump off the dock into the water for a swim or test your luck at fishing. Just a few minutes away you`ll find a selection of local wineries and breweries such as Fenn Valley, Virtue Cider, and Modales. You will also want to visit Crane`s for amazing pies, cider, wine, and produce. Downtown Fennville offers a selection of restaurants and a few shops. Visiting either Saugatuck or South Haven is an easy fifteen to twenty minute drive. If you`re looking to spend some time at Lake Michigan, the closest beach is Pier Cove Park. We recommend having a car to best explore our area. There are taxi and ride share services and the interurban in the area. We do not have a public bus/train in the area.
