Tranquilo North is perfect place to relax, enjoy the great outdoors, and take in the wonders of a rustic majestic southwestern home. The surrounding National Forest and Wilderness area provide soothing sounds of nature and panoramic views from the deck are phenomenal. There are mountain trails close to the property. It is .5 mile from the San Cristobal Canyon Trailhead, 1/2 hr from Taos Plaza, and easy driving distance to the Rio Grande Gorge, Taos Ski Valley, and Wild Rivers Recreation Area. ABOUT THE HOUSE Tranquilo North has an open bright feel to it and it features many custom southwestern accents. Downstairs has a fully equipped kitchen with a large table, a comfortable living room, a half-bath, and a bedroom with a queen size bed. Large picture windows, stained concrete floors, and giant vigas add to the unique ambiance. French doors open to a large deck with space and seating to take in the sights and sounds of nature by day and revel in the wonders of the night sky. Up the handcrafted staircase is the loft living area. This open welcoming space has vaulted ceilings, wood floors, and yes, many picture windows. There are relaxing reading spaces, a futon, a queen-size bed, a game/craft table, and a 32" viewing monitor. There is also a full bath with a claw foot tub. The house has wireless high-speed internet. Phone service is available through your phone via wi-fi calling. Whether soaking in nature's splendor or exploring all the great, scenic, and cultural highlights that make Taos a favorite vacation destination, Tranquilo North offers rejuvenation for both body and soul. ABOUT THE ROAD The last third of a mile leading to Tranquilo North is a rugged Forest Service road. A high clearance vehicle is recommended. Guests will have complete privacy; owners will not be present on-site. An in-town caretaker will be available to assist you and owners will be available by phone, text, or email to answer any questions you may have. The property sits on 16 acres of pristine valley land surrounded by the Carson National Forest and the Columbine Hondo Wilderness. San Cristobal Creek runs through the property. Meadows, cottonwoods, pines, natural wonders of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and spectacular views abound. To the west, the Jemez Mountains can be seen in the distance and to the east, the 12k San Cristobal Peak watches over the valley. The property is located in the San Cristobal mountain village, 2 miles off of State Rd. 522 and 1/2 hour from the Taos Plaza.
