Treat yourself to a Vermont hillside farm experience in our beautiful new barn apartment. Situated on a working organic farm, these alpine acres are nestled in the CC Putnum State Forest 20 minutes from Montpelier and 35 from Stowe. You'll have year-round access to many world-class trail networks for walking, hiking, running, skiing and mtn biking. In colder months, enjoy the wood-stove in the studio. In warmer months, open the bay doors on the deck and take advantage of the out-door shower. This is a pristine organic hill-side farm with 360 degree views of the Green Mountains, its valleys and no sign at all of humanity. The entire studio has a large open floor plan, with brand new hardwood and slate floors. All finishes are all-natural with no off-gasing for those with environmental allergies. The kitchen has natural slate floors, all necessary cooking and serving utensils, all brand new stainless steel appliances and an expandable oak kitchen table. The living room space has a plush rug and a Wolverine wood-stove. The brand new queen sized sleeper sofa and leather recliner is set in front of the brand new 43" smart HD TV. The bathroom has natural slate floors and shower stall, and hand-built cubbies full of freshly cleaned towels. The bedroom has a full-size bed in a handsome Ash bed frame, an organic down comforter, a seating area for quiet reading, an empty antique bureau and coat hangers for your clothes, and a Lasko space heater to knock any chill from the air on those chilly mid-winter nights. Extras include a small deck looking East over Eagle's Ledge, exercise equipment including cardio machine and yoga mats and an outdoor shower in the summer. The studio walls carry very special original fine art collections that are in seasonal rotation. This place is an excellent choice for anyone interested in a stylish and comfortable wilderness retreat with a touch of cultural stimulation, lots of outdoor recreation, healthy living, and still in close proximity to Vermont's capital and favorite ski towns. We provide outdoor and covered parking. Our land, our driveway and Hampshire Hill Rd are excellent for walking. You may meet some of our wonderful neighbors up on the road if you go for a stroll. There is no public transport, but if you want a great cafe breakfast you can drive the 2.5 miles down into Worcester and see Leslie and Betsy for some very fine lattes, pastries, egg sandwiches, quiches and great lunch sandwiches at the Post Office Cafe. There's also gas in Worcester at our general store, LBJ's. Whenever possible, we'd like to meet you upon arrival to give you the lay of the land, as this is a working organic farm. If you do not plan on using the outdoor spaces for recreating and would rather remain private for your stay, we can respect your needs and support your stay remotely. We are within walking distance of Worcester Mtn trail head, and a number of gorgeous swimming holes. We are a short drive from some of the state's finest lakes/swimming and paddling sites. We're two miles from Worcester village, where you can find gas, great breakfast and lunch. We are situated on a well maintained dirt road. Vehicles with better clearance and four wheel drive are recommended, but not required for the majority of the year. Though we list this studio as a loft, it is very large, and there are no short walls throughout. There is room for six, and we have two single mattresses with linen sets that we can offer for an added fee. You can select this option when booking.
