Our river & island front property offers rare, unique views of the Delaware river, its beautiful valley, fauna, and forests. The area hosts year round river, mountain, summer and winter recreational activities, etc. For families, couples, & individual stays. 90 mins from NYC, 10 mins from the Metro-North Port Jervis Station, and close proximity to Tristate locations. Relax, enjoy and get inspired by nature! Our newly renovated and modern like cabin home is located in our 7+ acres property, with river frontage, views and access to the Delaware river produced Bennykill Channel and views of Eden Islands. These islands are known as Eden Islands for their "Garden of Eden" uniqueness, and natural untouched wonders. The islands themselves are 30+ acres and offer a unique view of the changing seasons, an abundance of birds, and wildlife in and around the property area including beautiful and rare sights of Bald and Golden Eagles that reside in our property and on the river islands. The house area has a fire pit and log seats with views scenic of the river right behind the house. Perfect for all day and night outdoor entertaining and s'mores galore. Near the house we have our charcoal/wood grill and wood log seats for your outdoor cooking needs. Our chickens when laying provide the most delicious eggs. We might have some in the refrigerator during your stay or you may feel free to collect some yourself from the chicken coop nest boxes. Inside the house you will find everything you need for your staying, relaxing, and enjoying needs. Sit and get comfortable by the living room and fireplace, or cook yourself a gourmet meal in our modern kitchen. If looking for a relaxation treatment, our Roman bathtub is a perfect spa bath treat for you while on your stay and ideal after a nice hike exploring our property and area. We offer high speed Wi-Fi, Roku & Sling TV Smart channel apps for your viewing needs. Our home heating is controlled via our Nest Thermostat, and A/C via a portable system. The property has 7 acres of land to roam and explore with the west side of the property facing the Delaware river, Bennykill channel and Eden islands. Wood posts with signs mark the end of our property area and we advise you to please stay within the property area and be courteous with any neighbor and anyone working, or also using the property. There are multiple trails that lead down to the river. Please be cautious upon using the trails as they can be steep and hilly. Guess have access to the whole house, house area, and property which includes: Main house, forest, trails, river frontage and Bennykill/Delaware river. Excludes our garage, sheds or cabins on property, and their specified area. The water level of the Bennykill channel which is produced by the Delaware river might increase/decrease depending as to the season. In the summer months the water level might be shin/knee high depending where you access the channel, some areas might be deeper than others. Crossing to the island in front of our property is possible by foot when the water level is low but we advise to be cautious in exploring the island without any supervision or confirmation to us that you would be doing so. Exploring, kayaking, fishing, and tubing is allowed on our property at your discretion making sure that you stay within our property lines. At times I, or family members might be present on the property and be more than willing to take you on a tour around the property and river areas if desired, and possible. Montague Township is located on the Tri State corner of New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Surrounded by its beautiful natural forests, State parks, and Delaware river, this area hosts many relaxing and recreational activities. Nature and family oriented amenities and locations nearby include: The Delaware Water Gap National Recreation area, High Point State Park and Monument, Delaware river, river summer activities, mountain trails, and winter activities including skiing, snow tubing parks are of close proximity. Farms and other locations close by including the city of Port Jervis, NY and Milford, PA are only minutes away from the property and hosts annual events and tourist attractions. Property is located on River Road formerly known as Old Mine Road is a historic road once used by Native Americans as well as the nations first American settlers. It is considered one of the oldest roads in the U.S. The rich historical significance of the area is seen in old farm houses as well as the nearby Delaware Water Gap National Recreation area. Montague's close proximity to these locations including the unique Delaware river, Bennykill channel, River Islands and its abundance in nature also make it a top destination for those wanting to enjoy the historical and natural/recreational significance of the area. Easily accesible from NJ/NY/PA Tristate areas and NYC using the the New Jersey Transits Metro-North Port Jervis line. Train station is only a 10 minutes drive from property. Taxi transportation from the station to/from our house is available for $10.00 provided by JL Taxi in Port Jervis, NY. We have our charcoal/wood grill and wood log seats and table near our house area. There is an abundance of sticks, branches and small logs that can be used for firewood for the fire pit/bonfire, or for the fireplace inside the home. Please be cautious when using any flame starter, and using the fire pit, as well as the fireplace.
