Little House in the Big Woods

This cozy, barn style home, nestled in the woods, is the perfect spot to snuggle up with a good book! Don't let the outside fool you. All of the modern amenities and beautiful finishes await you inside. Located on a secluded hilltop, you can leave the busy world behind! This small, but functional home has everything you need for a quick or long stay! Whether you're here to sit, relax and watch the wildlife pass by, work from home having the high speed internet, visit the Finger Lakes, attend an event, cruise on the snowmobile trails, or visit other New York attractions, you'll have everything you need to enjoy your stay. The first floor includes a large sectional couch and ottoman full of movies to enjoy on the 65 inch TV, a gas fireplace, a full kitchen with all of the appliances need to cook, and an island for two. Take a walk upstairs to find a washer and drier, gorgeous bathroom with stand-up shower, and a cozy bedroom with a queen sized bed and large office desk. The house is on a dead end road. We don't have many driving services in our area, so you will likely want your own vehicle. There is plenty of parking and places to turn around. We recommend 4 wheel drive, all wheel drive and/or good snow tires during the winter. You will have the entire home and property to yourself. You are welcome to stroll the dead end road or the paths in the woods. We have a contact free check in. However, if an issue or concern arises, we live close and are happy to come and help. This is the perfect location if you're looking to get away from the hustle and bustle. The home is tucked into the hill on a dead end road, with only few neighbors whom which are completely out of sight. Even though you are on the outskirts of Spencer, you will still be within 20-30 minutes from the finger lakes and restaurants. There is a local grocery store, pizza place, gas station, and diner within 5-8 minutes. *We highly recommend good snow tires and/or 4 wheel drive during the winter months.* When you arrive, you'll notice the road changes to a narrow dirt road. Traffic is extremely light, but a slow speed is a must! You'll have plenty of parking for 1 or 2 vehicles. Ithaca, Elmira, Vestal, Owego, Corning, and Watkins Glen are all within a 40 minute (or less) drive. We are close to many Fingerlakes, which is what makes this a great location! Smoking indoors is strictly prohibited. Pets are not allowed. Extra linens, blankets and pillows are provided for guests that will be sleeping on the couch. The floor can get chilly in the winter. Bring your slippers. 🙂 Our home is in the country, so you can expect to find the occasional insects (flies, etc).
