Dolce's Sugar Shack

At Dolce's Sugar Shack, you will collide with nature and find yourself in a cozy hideaway nestled in a wooded valley. The rustic setting invites you to experience an atmosphere where one can enjoy the majestic outdoors or settle in by a warm fire. You will have the privacy of only those included in your stay. Our cabin is located off of I-71 and St. Rte. 30. We are an hour away from Cleveland and Columbus and. We are also located 25 miles from Mohican State Park. Cozy cabin in the woods with an open atmosphere. If you like camping and simple accommodations, this is for you. No other guests will be on the cabin grounds during your stay. There are 6 bunks with pillows and bedding. A coffeepot, microwave and skillet are provided for easy meals to make. A small sink is for use as long as temps are above 20 degrees. We have bottled water, snacks and jugged water for your convenience. Enjoy card games, reading material and other games for your pleasure. Minimal alcohol use in prohibited. A wood stove with plenty of firewood and kindling is provided to heat the cabin. Instructions are listed. There are rocking chairs, wooden chairs and a picnic table inside and outside. Electricity is provided, but there is no internet service. Two small electric heaters are also available. We also have a fire pit for use in the spring, summer and fall. A port a pot is for toilet use down by the cabin, but there is a half bath with toilet and shower in the basement of our home with an outside door for private entrance. Our residence is located at near the top of the path. There is a back sitting area behind the cabin to enjoy the creek alongside the cabin. Feel free to walk in the woods around the cabin. Our property is best marked by the sap tubing throughout the woods for sugar time in the spring. Walk at your own risk. Follow the creek bed for an enjoyable stroll or hike through the rougher terrain. We have some small waterfalls when the creek is full and also some small caves and crevices. Our main path through the woods is first entered halfway down to the Sugar Shack on the left. Along the trail you may find beautiful small flowers and also the path marked by ferns. You may discover a suspended bridge to cross if you travel a ways. Cross over it at your own risk again. We do check the secured wires, but we ask that NO JUMPING be allowed and only one to cross at a time. Follow the creek bed back to the cabin. We are on the Ohio Maple Tours every year in March.
