The Granary - a peaceful, rural location.

The Granary is a beautiful c17 converted grain store , constructed of brick, stone and flint with a slate roof. It is set in a rural location with far reaching views across the nearby valleys and river. Located just outside of the village of Martinstown it is less than three miles from Dorchester and close to Weymouth, Bridport and the stunning Jurrasic coast. The property is ideally situated for people working/ visiting Poundbury or the nearby county hospital . The accommodation is set on two floors; the downstairs living area comprises a kitchen area with contemporary painted units, solid wood worktops , a Belfast sink, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment and a gas fired Rayburn for cooking , central heating and hot water. The lounge area has two large sofas, a flat screen television with sky free view. There is a good selection of books , walking maps and books of local interest, board games, DVDs and free wifi access. There is a downstairs toilet and hand basin. Upstairs there is a spacious bathroom with toilet, handbasin and a luxury free standing bath. Please note there is not a shower at the property. The bedroom area has a king size bed, wardrobe and dresser. Please note that some of the bedroom area has restricted high due to the elevation of the roof. Outside there is a small private cottage garden with chairs and table. The property has its own designated parking area. Whole house and garden We live next door to the property in an old farmhouse . The Granary is peacefully located on a small track that leads onto a footpath. This is a rural location, with deer, badgers and interesting birds of prey . The village of Martinstown is about a mile away with a good pub that does evening meals and also a village shop/ post office. The county of Dorset is famous for being the home of Thomas Hardy and William Barnes the poet. It is also has some of the most stunning coastal walking both in the Purbecks and along the South West coast path. Interesting towns such as Bridport, famous for its eclectic market ,local shops and net making history and Sherborne with its famous Abbey are all close at hand. You will need a car as there is a very limited bus service. Ideally you would need a car as the bus service is very limited.
