The pub is one of Newbroughs’oldest buildings was a hostelry dating back to 1190 and is on the Stanegate Roman road built in A.D. 71. Newbrough also boosts an imposing town hall built in 1878 and the beautifu St Peters Church which resides on what used to be a Roman fort and a sports field, home of the local football and cricket clubs.
