Historic Kardella Homestead is nestled in picturesque gardens on 22 acres in the rolling green hills of Sth Gippsland, close to the delights of the Bass Coast. Enjoy the food and wine of the region, relax on the beach or take in a glorious sunset from the verandah. This comfortable self-contained home is generously proportioned, perfect for couples, families or groups. Contains 4 bedrooms (3 with ensuite), a kids room, 2 bathrooms, 2 home offices, a large open plan kitchen, dining and living. Guests have exclusive use of the property. We will make individual rooms available according to the number of guests booked. Please note that rooms not required by guests will be locked unless prior arrangements have been made. BEDROOMS Each room has quality bed linen, pillows and mattresses for a restful stay. Garden Retreat (largest bedroom) - 1 king bed, ensuite bathroom with clawfoot bathtub and garden views, door leading to the verandah, bay windows and walk in closet. Suitable for two people or a small family on request (we can set up a trundle bed and/or a portacot). Hill View - 1 king bed, ensuite bathroom with shower, bay windows with views of the garden and hills. Suitable for two people. Sunset Hour - 1 queen bed, ensuite bathroom with shower, and bay window overlooking garden. Suitable for two people. Fern Glade - 1 queen bed, door to the verandah leading to gardens and sweeping lawn. Suitable for two people. Access to hallway bathroom, which has a clawfoot bathtub and shower (over bath). Kids room - 2 bunk beds (and a single trundle bed on request), large bay windows, kids books and toys. Sleeps up to five children. This room doubles as a spacious play area for kids. ADDITIONAL BEDS (on request) Please request these when booking: - 2 x queen sofa beds (one in each home office). - Portacot available for a baby/toddler. - Single trundle bed. BATHROOMS 3 x ensuite bathrooms in Garden Retreat, Hill View and Sunset Hour bedrooms. Hallway bathroom with clawfoot bathtub and shower (over bath). Bathroom adjacent to laundry with shower. Bathtub in laundry (ideal for children). HOME OFFICE The bright home office has desk space, a door to the verandah and a queen fold-out Koala sofa bed for additional guests (on request). LIBRARY / HOME OFFICE 2 The library, complete with hundreds of good books, doubles as a second office space, with bay window, beautiful sunsets, and queen Koala sofa bed on request. There is also a television in this room. KITCHEN / LIVING / DINING Open plan, fully-equipped kitchen with a large antique dining table and living space with wood fired heating. There is also a split system for heating/cooling. SUNROOM Living space extends to the sunroom overlooking the garden, with a second wood fire heater to stay cosy in winter. LAUNDRY A full laundry and fifth bathroom adjoins the kitchen / living / dining. OTHER FEATURES The Homestead has a wrap around verandah overlooking surrounding garden, farm land, forest and hills. There is also a pergola with outdoor seating, gas fired Weber bbq and traditional charcoal fired Weber. Please call or text if you need anything during your stay Between the hills and the beach, Kardella Homestead is the perfect place to relax with friends and family, read books on the deck, have a barbecue or cook up a feast in the well-appointed chefs kitchen, and explore the gardens surrounding the house. If you feel like venturing out, you will be walking distance to the Western Reservoir (lakes) with lovely walking tracks amongst pine and native bush. A 5 min drive to the Great Southern Rail Trail for pleasant cycling or walking. You are a 12 min scenic drive to Leongatha or Korrumburra for country pubs, great cafes, restaurants, great op shopping, local produce, farmers markets, wineries and a brewery. And a scenic 25 min drive to Inverloch and on to the stunning beaches of the Bunurong Coastal Drive and Marine National Park. 1 hour drive from the breathtaking wilderness of Wislon's Promotory for hiking, camping and more unique bush and beach wonders. Ample parking near the house. Driving is very scenic and relaxing into town and beaches.
