It took my husband nine winters to rebuild the ruin from the miners back in the 40's. It has a 10" memory full size mattress, a light, coffee maker, electric tea kettle, microwave, and an outdoor covered patio area with a refrigerator. It is rustic and special at the same time. It has an electric heater for cool nights and a small AC for warmer ones. The ruin is located in the Ghost Town and within walking distance to restaurants, gift shops, and bars. It was rebuilt by my husband Joe, it took 9 years (winters) to finally get it roofed with a cement floor. The Ruin has it's own 1/2 bath, the toilet has a bidet attached to it. We also have a compost on the compound. We have picnic tables and a stove in the "common area". The ruin has it's own covered outside sitting area with an awesome view of the Chisos Mountains. The separate 1/2 bath (toilet and sink) is right next to the Ruin. La Posada Milagro (breakfast spot in the Ghost Town) has free wifi and makes a wonderful breakfast. The Starlight Theater is great for live nightly music and dinner....the El Dorado also offers nightly music and dinner along with La Kiva (everybody needs to visit La Kiva just for the architecture alone with huge sandstone rocks and old wood tables). Also the Rustic Iron BBQ take out is very good located 3 miles down the road towards Study Butte. There is also a wonderful grocery store in Study Butte on the way into the National Park, it is called The (Website hidden by Airbnb) small, but it has everything. Wifi will not work in the Ruin because it is made of rock, and many times not even in the Patio area. To get wifi, it is best to go to the tables in the common area on the compound if it is not working in the Ruin's patio. Our wifi is not great because we are so remote, sometimes is works well, other times it is antiquated slow.
