Enjoy a cosy and stylish experience at this centrally-located cottage set in one of South East's most desirable villages Hartley Wintney. Our charming cottage has been completely refurbished to a very high specification. Located in the centre of Hartley Wintney overlooking the idyllic Cricket Green, the cottage offers best of both worlds with the surrounding tranquil countryside and the bustling high street only a stones throw away. The Cottage has recently been lovingly renovated to compliment the original features and introduce modern amenities to ensure your stay offers a home from home experience. From an enclosed front porch, you enter the sitting room with benefits from sophisticated yet comfortable decor. Oak flooring can be found throughout the ground floor which adds to the period charm. Boasting an original open fireplace and a stunning bay window which offers picture perfect views across the historic cricket green. There's a 32" smart TV where you can choose from a variety of entertainment options including Netflix, Amazon and Freeview. Walking to the rear of the house you'll find the kitchen diner which offers a great space to sit and enjoy a meal in front of another original open fireplace and views of the private garden. The extendable table allows seating for up to 4 people. Next to the dining room is the brand new fully equipped kitchen which offers high spec integrated appliances including a Bosch ceramic hob, fan oven and dishwasher along with a washing machine , microwave, coffee machine and blender. A barn door leads off the kitchen and into the back porch patio area and lawn. At the end of the garden is an original outside toilet area which has been fully renovated for use including a basin. Upstairs, the master bedroom has been thoughtfully decorated to offer a warm and cosy environment. A solid Mahogany King size bed fitted with sumptuously soft and fresh cotton bed sheets that creates the perfect place to sleep. The bedroom overlooks the picturesque cricket green and beautiful oak trees. The second bedroom at the rear of the house overlooks the quant back garden and the historic high street building beyond. A double bed and fresh cotton sheets offer a comfortable nights sleep. The brand-new bathroom features a bath and shower overhead, with a de-mist electric mirror all completed to a high specification. Ample parking can be found outside the house and around the edge of the cricket green. Parking wardens do visit the area Monday-Friday - there are parking permits inside the house which will need to be replaced daily to show the current date each day. The ticket needs to be displayed in your car windscreen which will allow you free parking on a daily basis anywhere outside the house. The first 2 hours of parking is free. Wardens check anytime between 8am-6pm. Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays are exempt. (Free parking all day) Continental breakfast will be provided for the first morning of your stay. Your safety is my priority! There is a fire extinguisher and first aid kit in the kitchen. Please contact me asap if anything is broken during your stay so I can replace it. Other things to note We use high quality, environmentally friendly and cruelty free cleaning and toiletry products where possible. Whats included: Luxury 100% cotton bed sheets and towels, Pillow protectors and mattress toppers A well stocked kitchen with all cooking essentials (pots, pans, herbs, spices etc.) High quality toiletries Mid stay cleaning is mandatory for long stays of more than two weeks. For shorter walks, the historic Oak Common is just across from the cottage and is a great way to view the village. In the summer months, you can watch cricket being played on the historic green or perhaps play a round of golf at the Hartley Wintney Golf Club which is just down the road from the cottage. Other areas The next village along is the picturesque village of Odiham where you will find a charming high street, Odiham Castle, and the beautiful canal. Odiham boasts many independent shops including galleries, antique shops, cafes, boutiques and a creperie. There is a variety of restaurants to choose from including El Costello, The Bel & Dragon, The Red Lion and The Mill House. The nearest town is Fleet which is a 9-minute drive away and features plenty of shops including Marks and Spencer, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose. Fleet offers a wide selection of restaurants which cater for all tastes, including Sorrento (Italian), The Oatsheaf (pub/restaurant) The Gulshan (Indian), Fox & Hound (family pub next to the canal), Heron on the Lake (restaurant/bar) and Menu Thai. The whole house and garden are for your personal use. The property is thoroughly cleaned after each guest, ensuring all surfaces are sanitised. Please note there is a small step at the gate on the pathway to the front door. Ample parking can be found outside the house and around the edge of the cricket green. Hartley Wintney village high street is just a couple of minutes walk away from the cottage, and offers an array of independent shops and boutiques such as Cashmere Goose, New & Nearly and MiMi. Many hours can be spent wandering around the numerous antique shops which the village is famous for, they include Courtyard Antiques and Red Lion Antiques. The village also boasts several independent cafes and restaurants should you wish to dine out, these include the lovely Courtyard Cafe and Barristas cafe. There's also an independent baker, butcher, wine shop and organic store offering you everything you need to make a meal at home in the cottage. Local recommended restaurants - Monsoon - Great Indian restaurant - Sorisso - Italian restaurant There are two local pubs nearby; - Cricketers: the cottage is set behind, they offer food and drink - Wagon and horses: a traditional pub with lovely open fire for the winter and back garden for the summer time. Phoenix Green is a couple of minuets drive away from the high street and features two popular restaurants; Mama Mia which serves traditional Italian food and the Phoenix Inn which is well known for its award-winning roast dinners, it also offers a lovely bar. During the winter you can sit in front of the open fire enjoying a drink. In the summer time there is a lovely back garden. On street Parking is available with plenty of spaces outside the property and across the road. The first 2 hours of parking you won't need to display a ticket after this you will need to display a ticket which is in the property for your use. You will need a new ticket daily to put in your windscreen with the correct date scratched out. Parking wardens check regularly so make sure your ticket is always in your car windscreen. Sundays and bank holidays are exempt. Hartley Wintney has a Pay and Display Car Park just behind the High Street. Parking wardens regularly check the area make sure to read the signs before parking. Train Stations Winchfield - 2 miles away (5 minute drive, 40 minute walk) Fleet - 4 miles away (10 minute drive) There are taxis usually waiting at the station.
