Talybont Bed and Breakfast is nestled within a picturesque village just outside Barmouth in Snowdonia and offers superior accommodation along with a 4 star award from Visit Wales. Talybont B&B has a stunning riverside garden and offers a delicious home-cooked breakfast and freshly made bread to guests, setting them up for either a long walk up in the mountains and along the rivers, a walk along the stunning beaches, or simply to meander around the little towns and local villages. A cosy comfortable (standard) double room (King size duvet for added comfort) with full en-suite private facilities, including a large, powerful shower. Situated on the ground floor with easy flat access from the front door. Patio doors from the room, lead onto a private gravelled area where you can sit and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the morning or a glass or two of something in the evening. Various teas, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits, fresh milk and water are provided. Large, soft fluffy towels. Flat screen colour TV with Freeview and DVD player (DVD's not supplied), central heating, hair drier, boot warmer/drier, iron and ironing board. Wardrobe and dressing table. Free Wifi available. A quiet room (double-glazed) set at the back of the house. If windows are open, you can lay and listen to the soothing sounds of the babbling river in the garden. We have all seen those programmes, Escape to the Country, Four in a Bed and New Lives in the Wild etc., and after having watched many over several years and often saying ‘what if..’ and ‘why don’t we?’ we decided to stop dreaming and do something about it! So in September 2018 we packed our bags (and our two Labradors) and moved up to Talybont from Buckinghamshire. Phill was being pensioned out of the fire service and I hung up my corporate coat after having worked for a trade association for over 13 years, both of us very excited about this new chapter in our lives. We had a mixed response from friends and family from ‘you’re mad!’ to ‘I wish I had the courage to do something like that’. With our two Labradors, Moyo and Lottie by our side, we took full advantage of the stunning landscapes, mountains, rivers and beaches that Snowdonia has to offer plus (of course) exploring the best places to eat and drink!
