Built 1975 in the traditional Vermont post & beam style by the founders of Hubbarton Forge. Spring-fed well provides delicious water. Off-grid power system: house current from the on-site power station with solar panels charging a battery bank is backed up by generators. The kitchen will please those who like to cook. Fully functional vintage commercial restaurant range with six open burners, double oven and griddle/broiler. Commercial vent hood. Sharp cutlery. Full selection of enameled cast iron and steel cookware. Butcher block center island. Maple floor in the kitchen. Gas and electric lights. Open layout downstairs. Bar cabinet. TV/WiFi speaker/satellite TV/DVD player. Parking on premises May-December (subject to weather conditions in late November and December). If snow: your snowmobile required. I offer pickup/dropoff ferry service at $50/trip subject to my schedule. The "camp" is a very private location situated on a stream in a mountain hollow within National Forest. Winter (late November-April) Access: Usually requires a snowmobile. It is three miles from the parking area just off Route 9 in Woodford to the camp. Vehicle and snowmobile trailer parking available on Route 9 at the Woodford General Store. Guests seeking privacy will be pleased. Some guests wish to socialize. After Covid is behind us I will open the Lodge Bar. Bennington is 10 miles away with its shops, restaurants, world-class museum and historic sites. Stop at Henry’s Market for their smoked foods, meat counter and 3 year old cheddar. Good golf course. Cross-country skiing at Prospect, snowmobiling on VAST trails. Bring your ATV in warm weather. Park on site from May through November. December through April generally requires a snowmobile. In November and early December you should be able to drive (AWD vehicle with snow tires is urged) in but there is always the chance that a storm may prevent it. If you do not have a snowmobile I offer pickup/deliver for up to two people at $50/trip. Forest Service closes the road to vehicles from 12/15 to 5/1. Winter vehicle parking is at Route 9. Snowmobile trailer parking close by at the Woodford General Store at $10/night, paid to the store. Bugs are out in summer. Bring bug spray.
