Toll Bar House. Arrive as guests, leave as friends

This is my home. I have lived here with my 3 cats since July 2017. The views are fantastic - Mam Tor can be seen from the house/garden, and is within walking distance, as is Castleton (approx 11 mile round trip taking in both, and ideal for a days walk). The whole area is popular with walkers and cyclists, and has very dramatic scenery. Be prepared for all types of weather! The house is an old stone cottage that has been modernised inside. It is a cosy house with two rooms downstairs, and two bedrooms upstairs - mine and the guest room. If you are tall you will have to duck through all the doors. You will have the run of the house other than my bedroom. I am happy for you to use the kitchen, as long as you clear up afterwards. It is not a large house! I lead a busy life, so please keep me updated with your plans. You do need your own transport - public transport, and taxis, are very rare! There is a tv downstairs and access to WiFi throughout. I have a variety of board games which you are welcome to use. I can do a simple evening meal (I am avoiding meat at present ) if there are no other options available, though I would appreciate a donation to the costs, and I do need to know in advance in case I have other plans! It is VERY quiet, although there is an increase in traffic at the weekends, during the day, with people driving towards Mam Tor, Castleton and Winnats Pass. There is a local pub (though it has variable opening hours so you do need to check it is open, and serving food, rather than assuming you can eat there!) Buxton is 5 miles away and well worth a visit. Chapel-en-le-Frith is two miles away, and has some shops, a supermarket, and many pubs/eateries. Make sure you are prepared for weather changes! You really do need to have your own transport. Taxis are very hard to get unless booked in advance. It is a great area for keen cyclists (the British Cycling Team came past last summer) You might find a cat, or two, hiding in your room!
