Home Away from Home

Located in the Village of Pomeroy, along the Ohio River , our Home Away from Home has a setting up on a hill, facing the woods, overlooking a pond. As you enter the home you'll notice a computer desk to your right and the living room in front of you. The couch is also a pull out bed. Right around the corner is the bathroom. Up the stairs is a beautiful and spacious loft. Down the hall you'll find the breakfast nook and kitchen, as well as the door to the basement laundry room. Enjoy! We have recently upgraded the space to include hardwood floors throughout the home. All new furniture and fixtures. The Kitchen is beautiful with granite counter tops and black stainless steel appliances. This is set up like a home with all the conveniences you would expect. A loft bedroom with plenty of space and one of the best and most comfortable beds available. A fully functioning kitchen beside a breakfast nook that features Amish oak furniture. The bathroom is completed in tile and has a tub and a shower combination. In the lowest level you'll find the washer and dryer, all part of your use of the home. On the back deck you'll have a place to sit and enjoy the sounds of nature, you may even see some deer roaming the back yard and possibly some wild turkeys. Note: We follow Airbnb’s enhanced cleaning protocol, which was developed with expert guidance. We also own and manage a Cleaning Company which spends an average of 4 to 5 hours cleaning the home in between guests. Here are a few highlights: We sanitize high-touch surfaces, down to the doorknob We use cleaners and disinfectants approved by global health agencies, and we wear protective gear to help prevent cross-contamination We clean each room using extensive cleaning checklists We provide extra cleaning supplies, so you can clean as you stay We comply with local laws, including any additional safety or cleaning guidelines As a guest of our Home Away From Home, you'll have complete access to the home, all by yourself. We have two smart TV's that you can connect your various accounts to. Also your own wireless access to the internet. My wife and I live just 5 minutes from this home and have an business office right in front of it. The neighborhood is quiet. The setting is relaxing. We have a wonderful little coffee shop called River Roasters that's great for breakfast or lunch. Also for lunch, you can enjoy and up close view of the Ohio River while dining at the Wild Horse Cafe'. They're open for lunch and dinner. If you've never been to a sleepy River town, I'm certain you'll find many interesting sites and historical places to learn about. Drive through the area and try to think of what this area would have been like when the Ohio River was one of the only "roads" in and out of our area. There is a walking / bike path in Pomeroy that winds along the River. It's beautiful at night with the lights of the bridge and the walking path shimmering on the waters. Middleport also has a bike and walking path that takes you to one of the tributaries of the Ohio River called Leading Creek. Our Insurance Office is right in front of the home. We are in from 9 AM to 5 PM every weekday and are there if you need us for directions, places to eat, sites to see, etc.
